APC stepped up and sent my missing adapter rings overnight FedEx so I got to test the new props today. These are the 16x5.5 MR props replacing the 14x4.7SF on my Carbon Core 950 framed MK. These props are quiet!!! Gone is the familiar droning sound replaced with a gentle fan sound. Like one of those floor model metal blade fans. People 50ft from it didn't know it was there! The next thing I noticed is I couldn't trim down far enough on my transmitter to keep it from rising. With the old props I had it trimmed to hover hands-off. These new props hover at 1-2 amps less meaning more lift. More lift, less noise, slower rotational speed? Hell yeah. Total cost for 6 shipped was $51. These props are much stiffer than the slow fly series, I'm talking on the order of twice, three times stiffer. They were nuts-on out of the box but I did have to use a single layer of plastic wrap on the adapter rings to get them zero play. Give em a shot and support American. Cellphone pic.
