Another Swede is here! :)

Hi,

I think i posted in this before, but something must have happened because i never saw it here. Anyways,

I'm a 37 year old Swede. As many Swedes I am born in northern of Sweden, and have moved to the middle of Sweden to the city of Uppsala, near Stockholm.
I work as a CEO on a CCTV Surveillance company on the days, and my work as a slave to my family on the evenings. :livid:

I have been doing RC for quite a while, my son and i play with Traxxas Rustler cars, and i've been flying planes for many years. I got me a funcopter a couple of years ago and have been
flying helicopters more and more, and a small blade MCPX for indoor fun.

This autumn, i finally got my first multi-rotor, a DJI F550 with Naza+GPS plus a fatshark 5.8 gear and now I'm totally addicted.
I have flown this flywheel for at least 6 - 7 hours with a lot of problems with glitches, and ended up here when my Swedish reseller ran out of ideas and parts! :tennis:
After some questions here in the forums, two guys came with hints and i solved the problem which i am very grateful for. Now i got some experience in fail-searching the Nazas too.

Right now i am waiting for a TBS Discovery package which i got convinced into getting after reading some of Kloners posts and videos. It looks smooth, so I'll probably stay here on the late evenings, reading posts!

Hello and welcome......one more guy from Sweden on this forum. There are already quite a few Swedish MR-addicts on this forum, and all of them are great guys.....especially "snurre"

How do you guys in Sweden deal with the day-light situation in winter....? Just a few hours daylight and the rest of the day dark....would drive me bananas.
But in Sweden there are so many beautiful places (I like the nature in the north and the coast line a lot) where you can fly in peace without being worried to drop your Copter onto someones head.....just the damn winter.

Best regards and a lot of fun ...

Chris

Thanks for the warm welcome.

It's an excellent question you have there Chris, and i just had to answer it!
The easy answer is, "We don't deal with it" and i sucks like babies on a ... . :shame:

The only time we can fly RC is on weekends when it's light outside between like 9.30 - 15.00. That's when its like worst before the end of december when it turns. Very short days, and it affects many Swedes who actually get a bit of an autumn depression. I'm not there yet, but i do not enjoy the cold, dark winter so much. Sure, it got it's highlights when you go snowsledding with the kids or go skiing, but that's like a few days per winter you have the time, otherwise it's mostly misery. That's the backside of it, the good thing is , that during summers we can fly until 10pm on the evening, maybe even longer during midsummer and it never get really pitch dark.. more like very dimmed. Far up in northern of Sweden we have sun 24 hours in a few weeks every summer, but i have never experienced it.

I sometimes fly on lunch-breaks to shoot some nice video right now! :nevreness:
