Align g800 gimbal retrofit, has it been done? Can it be done?

I have been shopping for a gimbal for some time and most seem astronomically priced. I stumbled across the align g800 which ships complete with a controller and servos for around $1400.00. I am curious if anyone has experience with this setup on a multirotor.

reproducing most of what is seen here but saving around 500$ or so...

I used a trex 700, photoshipone front mount tube system, and the align gimbal with a hoverfly controller. The one that comes with it requires the auto pilot system.
