Finally a fly away for me

I built it myself. Been flying it for two years. The GPS was having a tough time locking on to the last satellite. It could have failed in flight. Had a fresh battery and flew away at about 200 feet. I dont know if its DJIs fault. I just wish I had it back.

Finally a fly away for me

The luck bucket ran dry. Mine flew away doing a job on a farm. Have no clue where it went. DJI F40 GPS Gopro and gymbal. DJI what the hell? Im going to have to look at other options and other manufacturers. -Brant

    Altitude. Mode vs. GPS Mode

The WiFi could mess with the GPS. I generaly use the wifi to set up the camera and then turn it off. Its a risk to leave it on. The descion is up to you.

    Altitude. Mode vs. GPS Mode

Im a noob also but I know a little about them. The ATT mode lets the quad fly on its internal accelorometers and needs no outside input. The GPS mode uses satalites to gain it position and keeps it in one spot. To use always wait for a good satalite track. Put your cell phone and any other...

Naza M Lite - Yaw Problem to the right in all flight modes.

Try to do an IMU calibration. This is done in the Naza software. Plug it in and set it level. It will calibrate the gyros and takes up to 10 minutes. It seemed to help my drifting issue.

DJI F450 Instability on take-off and drift to the right

Mine drifts to the right also. It was enough one day to send it into the dirt. Actually the top of City Hall. Since I have done the software update it needs a gyro calibration every time it flies. Once in a while it give the toilet bowl. Its just a crap shoot what this thing will do at any...

    Naza M wont calibrate

So, after my horrific crash on top of city hall I finally pieced together the quad. The FPV burnt up. All the power wires were melted. Now I cant get the Naza M to calibrate. It seems to work fairly well, but doing the toggle between GPS and Internal dosent get it into the calibrate mode...

    My first ugly crash

So I go my bird fixed and flying. The Mayors office was not happy about the crash, but gave back the quad. I got everything put back together with a little work and tested it out. I beleive my problem was the large buildings in the downtown and my compas calibration was off. This was cuasing...

    My first ugly crash

Thanks for the FlyGirl reply. Yeah, I didnt take it to Seattle on your advice. I think the GPS is failing and telling it to go right. It was pulling a little right a week before the crash, but nothing this severe. I just have to keep an eye on the systems a little better and know the dangers.

    My first ugly crash

I was flying in Portland photographing some of the iconic Portland sights. On my last flight the quad veered off the the right hard stick. I was GPS mode on FPV. Got some great photos of Portland and the roof of the Mayors office. Yes, I crashed on city hall. I got the quad back today...

    Thinking of flying in Seattle

I am going to take a trip up to Seattle. I have a DJI 450 with FPV and a go pro. I have had some rather good flights and can handle my quad quite well. Does anyone know the legality of flying around something like the space needle.? -B

Small drone crashes in NY city

Nice video until it slammed into the building. Looks to be a Phantom with no FPV. It would be easy to hit a building with no FPV. http://abclocal.go.com/wabc/story?section=news/investigators&id=9270668

Aluminum arms for dji flamewheel frames

I like the arms. How are they under verticle stresses. Also why are so many people crashing their F450s? Crashing should not be a normal every day thing. Im just wondering if Im missing something there.

    Phantom Range?

In most cases around a mile or more. If you dont have FPV then is much further than you can see.
