I've never worked with Adobe. But I would guess that if you go through that eoshd guide you will find a camera setup that will get you 90% of the way to where you want to be before you even start messing with the footage in post

I would also recommend the eoshd gh4 guide, which has lots of great info on settings and presets so you can choose between modes that look like crap out of the camera but have lots of room to grade, and modes that pop straight from the camera but have less room to push/pull in post. I learned...

I believe filmconvert, which is similar and I think now has gh4 presets, has a premier version. Filmconvert also has a good demo video

You could try something like this-http://www.colorgradingcentral.com/lututility

I guess my point is if you haven't tried and failed to tailor your product in post, the problem is not the source footage. Camera settings+post can remedy most "flat color" issues even with "only" 4:2:0 8 bit. Most MR video is just landscape essentially and can be captured just fine with...

Your color issue is likely because the "d" format is to capture maximum dynamic range. Maximum information assuming color grading is to follow. Like the footage from a BMPCC it will appear flat prior to grading. The good news is that the color is there already it just needs to be graded...

Kloner under the "hdmi rec output" menu, do you have "4k down convert" set to off? If so it will be trying to send 4k to your hdmi converter. If you set it to "on" it should be still recording 4k internally and outputting 1080p to the monitor

Considering MRF blastmail system to address FAA regulatory process but need your help

I like your thought process on separating the small business sUAS lobby from the "hobby" lobby. (sorry for that)

Considering MRF blastmail system to address FAA regulatory process but need your help

At first I was caught up on the terms of the proposed film exemption being perhaps a little too voluntarily stringent. But after researching for a few days and especially reading the names on that ARC list, I'm more convinced that as you say, the door needs to be cracked. Any exemption for...

Possibly an issue with the aspect ratio itself? I will be messing with gh4 down link this weekend if I stumble on a solution I will pass it on

Considering MRF blastmail system to address FAA regulatory process but need your help

For reference here are the entities on the FAA's rule making comitee: UAS ARC MEMBER ORGANIZATIONS • General Atomics • MITRE • GE • New Mexico State University • Raytheon • National Business Aviation Association (NBAA) • Northrop Grumman • Insitu/Boeing • Rockwell-Collins •...

Not to argue but 4096x2160 is 4k, which has a cinematic aspect ratio. Uhd denotes 3840x2160, which is a 16x9 aspect ratio. Same vertical resolution with less width. Uhd as a name is used because 16x9 can't ever be 4k, because of the aspect ratio. That's how I understand it all anyway...

So uhd @30p internal out puts to 1080p right? Just not 4k @24?
  17. T

    Lumix GH4

Dang, you mean it won't let you monitor at 1080 while shooting uhd? I guess I just assumed it did.

Gongrats to Aerial MOB and Mr. Kloner......well done

Just saw today that the FAA's Facebook page (yes they have one) is asking for comments on these exemptions, and calls them "precedent setting". That's from the Agency itself. Press release: http://www.faa.gov/news/updates/?newsId=77985&cid=TW226 Link to comment to the...
