It does sound very tricky. What cables would come with a Zenmuse? I cant see whether there would be any great difference between what I have and the integrated solution that provides.

Thanks Ben, I will try all of those features. The menu structure seems fairly simple which is what confused me. I was wondering if there was something I had missed, that is specifically for the purpose of choosing whether to use the inbuilt LCD or the HDMI out for monitoring.

Current setup is for Canon SLR. AVL 58 standard cable with 3.5mm jack. 3.5mm jack plugs into another cable that goes into the A/V out on the camera (11pin micro usb).

Thanks sleepy, another thing I have done fairly recently is switched from using the Windows based software to the mac version since that has been released. Perhaps if I USB the system back into the windows software it might bring something to light.
