Air Race Arena Showdown: Indoor Multi-Rotor FPV Competition February 15th, 2015 - REACH Huron, Clinton, Ontario, Canada It's finally here: Professional Racing for Multi-rotor FPV Pilots. Not a meet. Not a get-together. Not a last-man standing bash through trees. All of those...

Aeronavics / Droidworx SkyJib Retractable Landing Gear not Locking

Kloner, in your honest opinion would it be worth buying a new set from droidworx?

Aeronavics / Droidworx SkyJib Retractable Landing Gear not Locking

Okay here we go again, 6 weeks and 4 servos later.... We figured out that the rail assembly? (main part that bolts to the copter) was bent from a hard landing last summer and was causing the gear to bind. This was what we thought the problem was. Sent it to a shop and had it straightened as new...

So where do Phanton owners get their brains?

It would be if I took the Spy750 out against it... That thing is bulletproof.... MUAH (it's also at 11lbs AUW)

So what voltage do you run the BEC at? Just don't want to fry the board.

Aeronavics / Droidworx SkyJib Retractable Landing Gear not Locking

Quick update, doesn't work if you power the servo independently between the servo and retract control board. I think I'm onto something though. The servo's operating voltage is between 6.0 and 7.4v. Makes sense if there isn't enough juice at 5v. On to part two, power it from the rx side. Let's...

Aeronavics / Droidworx SkyJib Retractable Landing Gear not Locking

Alright they are going higher but still getting stuck at 80% and the servo is still trying to push them. I can hear it slow down and work harder then keep trying when they hit the point where they lift no longer. If I lift the foot with my finger it goes up all the way and stays and the servo...

Aeronavics / Droidworx SkyJib Retractable Landing Gear not Locking

There is no PCB on the new servo that I can see unless it's built in to the servo itself. If your talking about the retract control board then I should solder it to the new servo lead? One of the local shops told me it wasn't necessary, mind you they've likely never seen these retracts before. Hmm

Aeronavics / Droidworx SkyJib Retractable Landing Gear not Locking

It isn't slipping though, I'd hear the servo still going if that were the case? The servo is just stopping like it doesn't have enough juice? The slip compression thing is tight. I'll take it apart and try again but... Thanks for the input!

Aeronavics / Droidworx SkyJib Retractable Landing Gear not Locking

Okay guys, I've had this issue since I got mine last year. We we're having other issues with the build we got and put it away for the winter. Over the last couple of months we've completely rebuilt it for the third time. Finally happy with the performance we want to attach our movi m10 to with...

So where do Phanton owners get their brains?

Initial comment on the vid > #idiot There are a lot of good comments in this thread but it still doesn't help the situation any. Wasn't it just last week an NYPD chopper tried to fly into two phantom's 2000' agl above brooklyn bridge? I personally am partial to the licensing idea, I have a $5m...

KDE Direct has added Multi-Rotor Heli motors to their lineup

Hey all, I don't really have much to say other than I am so sick and tired of buying motors that are out of date or stock within a year. I'm really hoping KDE is here for the long haul. Talking to John over at AddictiveRC and he can't say enough good stuff about the KDE motor/esc combo. I'm glad...

That's exactly what I wanted to hear! Toad in the hole is comiin' to daddy! Thanks! (I already have the extended retracts)

Aeronavics / Droidworx Skyjib 8 + Movi+ Toad in the Hole

I've never driven across the border but I've flown with gear, it was actually harder to get back into Canada than it was to leave. I can't see an issue. One thing you may want to bring is an itemized list of your gear with serial #'s and corresponding value so that you can prove you own the gear...

Aeronavics / Droidworx Skyjib 8 + Movi+ Toad in the Hole

Rick, I've tried the AMP Epic 500KV motors and ended up putting them on a SkyHero Spy750 Y6 setup (fly's like a dream) and for our SkyJib I just put Avroto 3520 KV400's on it... Wow, quiet, smooth and tonnes of power. They bolt up to the plate nicely but you'll have to find different screws to...

The next rig for Yonder Blue Films - "Less Is More"

I've flown both but prefer DJI to Hoverfly myself. An yes I've flown RED Epic with Wookong no problem. I'm really curious about Gemini from Zero-Tech though. I really like the redundancy factor. Our next bird is going to be an X8 Hammer from Kopterworx. With the way the regulations are going for...

The next rig for Yonder Blue Films - "Less Is More"

Hey Ben, good luck with the build. I'm contemplating another "heavy lifter" myself but we all run into the same questions. ESC's/PDB Herkules III is the way to go if you ask me. FC: I'm waiting for Synapse, I've been speaking with the lead developer and it looks like the release is coming up...
