    Understanding Lithium Polymer batteries

Very interesting video of the world record multirotor flight of 3+ hours in Montreal, Quebec. This took place March 16, 2015.

    Understanding Lithium Polymer batteries

As previously stated, I use a 6000 mAh 4S on a fully loaded F-550 that weighs in at 3.0 Kg. It is basically a video Platform that features a Gopro camera and a DJI H3 3D gimball using AVL58 for video downlink. Add the landing gear, few strobes light, a Spot Trace Locator and a small battery...

    Understanding Lithium Polymer batteries

The first thing you want to check is the prop you are using! You may very well fly a 10X5 prop with a 3S but you may have to reduce the prop i.e 9X5 or something along this line if you go with a 4S battery. It is all a matter of how much amps you motors and ESC can take. By going to a more...

Here Come The Section 333 Exemption Petitions

Congrats Steve upon your business being selected for the exemptions. We all know now how this sudden interest for full size piloting came from. You know that you are making history here (Ha! Ha!). Good luck in your contracts and wishing you an excellent safety record. Go get them Kloner...

Way to go Steve! Please look at what you have accomplished and not what remains to be done. It is the old glass half empty or half full theory but it does make a difference at how you live this great experience. A suggestion for communication with ATC, try to force yourself to be more relax...

    Understanding Lithium Polymer batteries

''Hubsan 380 mah 3.7v +14c18 1.4W''....... I read Hubsan, 3.7 volts (so the battery is composed of 1 cell), that cell has a capacity of providing 380 millivolts in one hour (in other words, it will be completely depleted if I apply a load of .380 amps or 380 milliamps during 1 hour). The...

    Understanding Lithium Polymer batteries

Just a reminder guys, there is no problem whatsoever discharging a lipo cell below 3.7 volts during a flight! A cell should not be discharged below 3.0 v to avoid permanent chimical oxydation within the cell itself. As safety margin, I would never discharge a cell to below 3.2 - 3.3 volts...

    Understanding Lithium Polymer batteries

I agree with your concern. As previously stated here, if you are using half decent batteries with a respectable C rating (i.e. 25C+) you can approach you power management with the 80/20 % rule. That is to say that your batteries should require 4000 mAh on the recharge if you are using 80% of...

    Hi from Ontario, Canada

Hi and welcome amongst us! I think you have found the jack pot with this forum. Heck, the best way to get away with purchases related to multirotors is to try to get your wife involved! I know it sounds silly but don't worry, they typically hate that kind of thing as they don't understand...

    680 Pro Payload ??

+1 on the overall quality and rigidity of the TAROT kit. I have a 690S (650 with new motor mounts) and it is an excellent design with high precision parts. Went together without an itch and it is very light, yet rigid where it counts. I have the SunnySky 2814-11 700 KV (lots of power!) and it...

Voltage flashing on mini OSD after latest update

For sure! I have written to DJI about this bug and will happily share the solution, that is if they answered me... Let's gave them a chance, notwithstanding a ton of bad reports I have heard over the years...

Voltage flashing on mini OSD after latest update

Hi and thanks for the reply. My flight controller is set for 4S and there is no way (that I can figured out) of entering this portion of the iIOSD mini other than the standard flight controller interface (NAZA). I changed the values to various possblities for 1 and2 alarm to no avail. I think...

Voltage flashing on mini OSD after latest update

Amazing how a small flashing item can distract you in flight. Tried everything, reduced voltage values on NAZA M V2, turn voltage protection OFF, nothing works. Any idea before I revert to an old and 100% success rate solution... a piece of BLACK TAPE! :(
