    How Long For 333 Exemption?

We just got an amendment to our initial filing approved. Took 6 months to the day. Our original petition took 3 months. Both had no requests for additional info which adds to delays.

Alta Price goes UP - A LOT.... $11,995.00 WHAT?!?!?!

The only recurring complaint I have heard is wanting more payload than 15 lbs. UHD cine cameras will only get smaller/lighter so my though is it's just about the perfect size for 90% of our high end work now and will cover 100% soon.

Alta Price goes UP - A LOT.... $11,995.00 WHAT?!?!?!

Agree. I will say that I have never felt any remorse paying a little extra for a quality, domestically produced product with excellent customer service.

Alta Price goes UP - A LOT.... $11,995.00 WHAT?!?!?!

The attitudes of some on this forum disappoint me. How many other highly successful company owners bother to come on forums like this one to clarify information about their products? Is it appreciated? Did anyone say thanks? No. Not anyone. It's like everyone crawled away to pout because their...

Question about the quad that almost fell on skier Marcel Hirscher

Then in the US you have this taking place and the FAA doing nothing about it. http://ftw.usatoday.com/2015/11/see-gorgeous-drone-footage-of-the-royals-world-series-victory-parade

Alta Price goes UP - A LOT.... $11,995.00 WHAT?!?!?!

Plus Freefly has a very comprehensive quality assurance protocol for each Alta which adds to costs. It's very impressive to see it in person. My personal experiences with DJI in comparison, shows that they must spend almost nothing on QA and instead mass produce and just say "send it back and...

I am disappointed in one of our own members for his neglegent decision to fly over freeways.

I have been able to discuss these issues with the FAA recently. Their view is anything that flies must operate safely in the NAS. In these cases they look to FAR 91.119 for enforcement which this clearly violates. Then you have real clowns like these guys -...

Alta Price goes UP - A LOT.... $11,995.00 WHAT?!?!?!

You really need to fly the Alta to appreciate what it brings to the game. There is nothing else that has the frame build quality in a foldable. The synapse FC is the first I have flown that allows the perfect blend of stabilization and fluid user inputs. It is now being specifically requested...

Aerial MOB picked as Panavision's Preferred Aerial Company

Having worked in aerial cinema for the last 11 years I laughed out loud when I read your comment about very little shopping" in TV/film production. Here is just one of hundreds of examples. Not keyboard speculation but real life in the film world. We were approached by Roger Deakins to supply...

Aerial MOB picked as Panavision's Preferred Aerial Company

I would agree if not for the fact that quality work at the lowest price rules this industry the same as all others. Outside of LA, Panavision means very little for example.

Aerial MOB picked as Panavision's Preferred Aerial Company

Not trying to be a wet blanket in the midst of all the high fives, but at the end of the day does this amount to anything of substance? Panavision at this time isn't a player in drone cinema aside from being a rental house. It all sounds a bit like a lot of smoke over a really small fire to me...

They are lucky to have him.

    Why coax?

In forward flight the coax design, with props closer to center, allows more dirty air to disturb the camera gimbal. I think this is part of why Freefly sticks with flat designs.

DJI put me in business, and is taking me out...

A guy posted a video flying directly beside a class B airport. I reported him to the FAA. As a pilot this crap scares the hell out of me. If I didn't do this, and he caused an airliner to go down, I would never have forgiven myself. To each his own.

DJI put me in business, and is taking me out...

In a few years there will be TV shows like "Most Shocking Drone Videos" and "Funniest Drone Crashes". Not kidding.

DJI put me in business, and is taking me out...

It is the FAA'S job to educate these types. It is the only way to get their attention. I consider it one's civic duty to report those who put the public at risk.

DJI put me in business, and is taking me out...

I am by no means a DJI fanboy but I find your comments out of touch. DJI saw a need and filled it. They continue to do this. If someone else had the foresight, drive and intelligence to do this, they would have, but they didn't. It has nothing to do with supporting a foreign supplier. If you...

DJI Inspire LiPo fire on airliner

Ditto. There are quite a few people that know that TSA doesn't always know the watt hour limits and carry on a large number of big packs. Pretty stupid to put others at risk for the sake of convenience.
