well, with my design 1 rotor was in another plane than all others. For some reason it seemed it wasn't able to stabilize itself when performing YAW. It rotated unstable in a spiral and it took several seconds before it was hovering stable again.

I don't know if the octo distribution board would fit, but if it does that would be fairly easy. I don't think it does tho, besides for an octo i suppose we are talking heavy lift, more modifications would be necessary.

XT60 are indeed very good connectors and even 10mm2 cables are relatively easy to solder and they resist high temperatures.

hi, so that would be 2.5kg + 360 gr for NEX5 ? What i don't understand tho is why you are using 2S ? I fly with AHM30/6 (graupner 11x5) and a single 5500/3S 13 mins (alarm on 10.6 = 3.5). 24A on hover.
