For Sale: BNF Droidworx Skyjib 8 v1 with FREE AV200 & Skyline RSGS

Hi The rig is still available, although there is some serious interest from a couple of people. I am in South Yorkshire & I'm selling because my "proper" job is keeping me too busy to devote the necessary time to developing an aerial imagery business & I'm falling behind with the technology...

For Sale: BNF Droidworx Skyjib 8 v1 with FREE AV200 & Skyline RSGS

BNF Skyjib 8 v1 with FREE AV200 & Skyline RSGS I have for sale in the UK, a Skyjib 8 version 1 which I built and have used as a heavy lifter for flying cameras for television. It flies extremely well, is impressively smooth and dependable. A demo reel showing it's stability and smootheness can...

AV200 + RSGS Nick move Roll..

When you "SET LEVEL" on the RSGS Tuning page make sure that the RSGS is perfectly level (not necessarily the tray) for the X & Y axis and then exactly vertical when you point it looking down to set the Z axis. The closer to perfect this process is has a huge effect on nick/roll coupling on mine...

Aeronavics / Droidworx SKYJIB Lite 4X UK or NZ?

I'm UK based and firstly must say that Droidworx gear is awesome and I would highly recommend their products wherever you get them. In my experience, Kopterworx offer unbelievable service in Europe. I've waited about a month for stuff to come from NZ via a "leading" UK MR supplier but I've...

    Brushless gimbals, the latest

Freefly have tempted us with their "Movi" which looks like the mutts nuts. They'll want about £10k for it though. They claim "any camera, any lens". If I costed out the time I've wasted on Photohigher's lousy POS I'd be able to afford one!

S800, total weight 7kg, should I still use maxamps?

I think you are maybe confusing the battery rating. I think that the 5C you are referring to is the maximum CHARGE rate, not the discharge rate. I have googled the Maxamps 6S 11000mah and the discharge rate is quoted as 40C. This is the figure that you use when you calculate the capacity...

Gps instability and go home woes

The aircraft will return to home travelling forwards, so if you switch to fail safe or RTH when it is facing away from you it will yaw around. All the failsafe/RTH actions happen pretty quickly. I can't comment on GPS twitchyness though.

    Another one bites the dust...

Here's a link to the UAS Vision Daily News story on the crash. What interests me is that it says " the helicopter floated to the top and they managed to fish that out" - How? Every time I lift my Skyjib I'm amazed it flies let alone float!!!!! Sounds as fishy as the net they used to catch it...

FOR SALE: Cinestar 3 Axis Gimbal. UK Seller

I have for sale my hardly used, 3 Axis Cinestar Gimbal. I bought it to replace an AV200 on my Skyjib 8, but never bothered using it since it hung too low with the standard Skyjib undercarriage. It has been test flown about 3 times so is in excellent condition. The tilt axle has been...

Aeronavics / Droidworx Skyjib V2 Battery Options

I take mine down to 3.2v/cell. I have the first level protection set to 21.3v (3.55v/cell) which I know will give me about a minute to get back. I use the TX timer and I have an OSD too so I can see if something is amiss. i have put a pair of Hyperion 5500mAh packs through this since June last...

    Photohigher skyline rsgs

Call me a skeptic but I wouldn't be surprised if PH turn their back on the RSGS Skyline & it's further development with brushless technology just around the corner. Let's face it - they've been an awful company so far when it had the potential to be a game changer. Now it's almost obsolete where...

Aeronavics / Droidworx Skyjib V2 Battery Options

My favourite batteries are my 6S Zippy 8000mAh from Hobbyking UK warehouse. I get just under 10 minutes from them in the cold, with a 5D on my SJ8 (AUW 13kg). I have some Gensace 6000mAh too which haven't balanced well from new but fly OK. I'll not buy them again though. The Zippys, although...

Pilot reports mystery black ‘drone’ at JFK

If something hits a tail rotor whatever airspeed the real helicopter has it will almost certainly do damage that will at best cause an immediate forced landing. Loss of tail rotor effectiveness is a contributing factor in a large number of helicopter crashes. Damage caused from something going...

    Hoverfly Xocto or +octo???

Couldnt agree more. I recently flew my Skyjib 8 in 24mph gusting 36. It just leaned into the wind more & the WKM kept it solid. The frustrating thing is that the video from it is impressively stable and it doesn't look particularly windy!!! To those that doubt, the PH Skyline really does work...

Fast ascent causes quad to bank and pitch. Need help.

Sounds like ESC calibration and/or possibly timing to me too. I would think since it flies OK calmly it's not your gains. Your ESC instructions will tell you how to calibrate them. Take your props off when you do it because at some stage in the process it'll probably involve you setting full...

    FPV Tx Rx advice

Personally I would never dream of using 500mW even though "a friend" gets great performance from the DJI TX/RX with the cloverleaf antennas. Im no expert on RF tech (but sadly anal about the law regarding these things!) but I think that the aerials are the important pieces in the chain. The...
