Very strange thing to write, "massive" is relative.. Look around you, we are lifting 5d's, C300 and even Red's. "Standard" 35mm Tigers with 12" Graupners, 30-40A Esc's and 2x5000mAh 4s on a Hexa will lift that setup without even getting warm.

I've had the 550d and now I own the 650d, I also have the 17-55 2.8 IS. When in air taking stills there is no difference, but when using it "by hand" I'll say there is a lot difference in the handling and good new functions. The articulating touchscreen is fantastic, very clear and responsive...

Wait, you don't get it. I use GoPro to record nice video just like you, but filming without live framing (fpv) is to me a lottery. I do all my aerial work fpv now. Even with DSLR's. It's 2012 AP and fpv is fused. And it's a myth that it is hard to fly gimbal stabbed fpv. Sensor size, shutter...

Who flies fpv with a Nex? It does not have AV out, Strange to compare those. The battery life of the NEX really sucks when you van't turn off the screen. Do you get a NEX-5N with wide angle lens for 400$?
