FPV Racing....Spec Course for Spec Class

Our club ran this past weekend on a field perhaps just slightly smaller than a soccer field. It was rather simple compared to some, but made for some great close racing. Here is a video from one of our guys. Also, check out the DroneNationals.com course. It is awesome, in a soccer field, and...

    QAV250 with Naza-M lite?

While the Naza might work fine in atti or manual mode, leave your GPS receiver in the box for a 250 racing or proximity FPV quad. Atti mode will offer plenty of stabilization until your build your piloting skills. Find a group of folks in your area flying FPV and meet them for some group...

To Gimbal or not to Gimbal

You won't want to add the weight. Most are spending time reducing weight, not adding. Reduced weight also improves crash resistance.

    Best FPV Monitor ?

I used a RMRC 8" for a year and just upgraded to a 10.1. The 8 was not bad, but the 10.1 rocks. Also more real estate to Velcro VTRs and other gear.

    Phantom 2 - DJI Have a Winner!

Congrats. I've got two, and had no problems whatsoever. The multi battery charger is a bit of hit or miss at the moment. 2 batteries at the most, and if they are really drained, only one. Probably because the stock power supply (black brick) cannot supply enough juice to simultaneously...

    Phantom 2 - DJI Have a Winner!

I just received my second battery from Nuke RC on Friday the 15th and sure enough, it was about a month to get it just like the last. Interestingly, I ordered two of those doohickey multi battery charger connectors and that order arrived in only two weeks. I wonder if their shipping method is...

Basic Setup Instructions for FrSky Taranis, X8R and Naza-M V2

If you are flying home normally, then you won't have the throttle at 0, and if it in Failsafe mode, the NAZA will be in control. As long as your throttle is calibrated in Assistant, you should be good to go.

    Crappy Soldering Iron?

I second (or third) the Hakko FX-888D. It is superbly made, has a lot of tips available, heats up quickly, and looks good on the workbench. I really like being able to quickly switch temps, like when using thin solder.

    Phantom 2 - DJI Have a Winner!

I received mine Friday, and having ordered it 13 June, took almost exactly a month to arrive in Atlanta. I haven't had time to fly it yet, but the design, fit, finish, are pretty much identical to the DJI version. Going to order a second one today.

New custom quad issues with subtrims. help please

I've no experience with the KK2 board, but IMO those subtrims in your 9x are way too high. For instance in my 9x running OpenTX and a v911, I've got a +5 for aileron and a -3 for rudder. But that is a small pod and boom trainer with a squash plate. On multirotors you typically don't use any...

Goggles dangerous, hardly but your big heli's are out to get you!

That's an awesome story! What doesn't kill you makes you stronger :) And our wives already suspect that we are closet assassins, so probably all that you did was confirm her suspicions LOL!

Goggles dangerous, hardly but your big heli's are out to get you!

I don't know. The transmitter setups are certainly a lot more complex on CP helis and I've spent a good bit of time leveling squash plates, setting prop pitch, programming speed controllers, juggling throttle and pitch curves to match with flight modes or dual rates, and getting all of those...

DJI Phantom 2 (non Vision) Main Circuit Board reinstall

@aerialagents: Check on the gains page that you do not have one of them assigned to X1. @AGImaging: update your firmware in Assistant per my response to your other post.

Central circuit board replacement - DJI Phanton 2

1.0.1.30 is your problem. Update to 1.0.1.31 and you should be fine. 1.0.1.30 caused some weirdness, like LEDs not working, compass errors, and failure to initialize the Phantom/Naza with an iOZD connected to CAN-BUS. It was patched yesterday, so that would be the first thing that I would...

Goggles dangerous, hardly but your big heli's are out to get you!

Yes, I like watching hot 3D, but they scare the crap out of me, especially when 700+ size (basically flying guillotines) are flown near human beings. Respect the flight line.

Looks like there is a 1.0.31 released this morning that resolves the issue.

WARNING: Use Assistant with current F/W release at your own risk (P330CB - iOSD mini)

WARNING: Use Assistant with current F/W release at your own risk (PATCHED) OK, this seems to not affect everyone, and the only difference between my P2, which is only a couple of weeks old and my brother's P2 is the battery loader and firmware. We both have iOSD minis, IRC 600mw VTX, FlyTrex...

    FrSky/Taranis Owners Thread

OK, that's really interesting Scott. So what you are saying that if the X9D is configured as D16 and Chan 1-16 on the Model setup page (2), then the X8R automatically selects the receiver mode to output channels 1-16 on the S-Bus and channels 9-16 on the conventional ports? No need to use the...

    FrSky/Taranis Owners Thread

The S-Bus is a dedicated port, so if you were not using channels 1-8 for flight controls, flight mode, or IOC, you would have them. But most likely you are using most of those channels, so that's why I am interested in reassigning the conventional or physical ports to higher channels by using...

    FrSky/Taranis Owners Thread

It does support 16 channels, but obviously if it only has 6 physical ports, some of those 16 will need to be output on the S-Bus port, and your flight controller only needs so many. I'm going to do a test asap with a spare X6R to see if I can get channels 9-14 output on the physical ports. If...
