Mikrokopter Sudden wobbly roll (nick & roll up to 29 deg) during waypoint flight and dPH

Basic flight data in this post. I'm actually starting to wonder if the LACK of wind could have contributed to the problem. MikroKopter-Flight-Evalution: ======================= Program-Version: 0.1.0.2 Supported up to MikroKopter FC-Version: 0.86 mdt: http://www.mdtweb.de Wiki...

Mikrokopter Sudden wobbly roll (nick & roll up to 29 deg) during waypoint flight and dPH

Third flight of the day with a CineStar6, and a fairly light payload (CineStar 2-axis gimbal and Sony NEX-5n), dead calm to light breeze, no gusts, 8-10 sats for GPS, running .88 nicely... Up in free flight, dPH/AH/CF, then CH to start the waypoint run. Rock solid performance. I noticed one...

Mikrokopter navi & gps boom mounted fix magnetic error 22 in Cinestar 6

After moving the NC out under the GPS on the nose boom, I ran only one test while still on .86 - climb, move away from the home point, PH, CH. Total success. Upgraded to .88 and ran some waypoint routes. Rock solid. The only mod since was to stack a couple of short standoffs between the NC and...

Mikrokopter navi & gps boom mounted fix magnetic error 22 in Cinestar 6

Man, I hope so. of course, I tested .88 yesterday with waypoint/POI routes, and completely spaced out on that, and had CE set to zero. Seriously though, the new position of the compass shouldn't prevent you from allowing it effect yaw.

Mikrokopter navi & gps boom mounted fix magnetic error 22 in Cinestar 6

Mine came from Quadrocopter.us, and is mounted right up against the center ring. The only mod I am making to what they sent me is to add another set of 10mm standoffs between the nav board and the GPS. The GPS shield makes it nearly impossible to switch between the wireless Xbee and ribbon cable...

Mikrokopter navi & gps boom mounted fix magnetic error 22 in Cinestar 6

Boom mounting the nav board was an instant fix on my C6 Casey nailed this one. I stuck the nav board under the GPS on the nose boom, and it was flying a new machine. Drift is nearly zero with PH on, and CH no longer sends the aircraft off at 40 mph in a random direction. Phew!
