    N00b - RCT800 GoPro AP Build

Yeah, that's one of the reasons I can be patient. Working on a clubhouse/treehouse thing for the kids. Should be fun for them this spring/summer. I always have some project going on though. edit - not sure why photo uploaded upside down???

Heard from Sleepy. He's still living out of boxes and work has been crazy. He is alive, so that's good news.

That's the feeling I got too, which is why I'm trying to be patient. At my current rate though, this will be a project for next winter.

    N00b - RCT800 GoPro AP Build

Well, i have some thoughts about this but I'm going to hold off until I hear from Sleepy. I like to think the best of people and I hope his not getting back to me is just a combination of dealing with a move and catching up on things with his site and business. He was doing me a favor anyway...

    N00b - RCT800 GoPro AP Build

I need to change the thread title to "Sound Engineer Support Thread." I've looked at a lot of builds and seen a couple discussions on the matter. I have not tested this myself (because I've never built one). My feeling from what I've seen/read is that it doesn't matter that much. At...

Yeah, not only that but Sleepy appears to be avoiding me like several girls in high school. Was it something I said?

    Did you survive the move?

Sleepy must be deep in moving hell at the moment. His PM's are full and haven't heard from him in a couple days. Hopefully we hear from him soon. Maybe somebody should go check on him.

That Matrix looks sweet, but alas it is definitely not in the budget I was trying to stick to. Very cool and capable machine though. You should be able to duplicate similar results by putting something together yourself. The kit would be nice though, and it's a cool looking mchine. If you like...

His people are still in discussions with my people. Stand by.

    N00b - RCT800 GoPro AP Build

Actually, unwittingly you've brought the thread full circle. What you are looking for is something more similar to what's in my original build, and probably not similar to Sleepy's. Since that's the track I started down, it's all I've been searching for and reading about for about 3 weeks. By...

    N00b - RCT800 GoPro AP Build

:livid: Bunch a thread hijackers you are If there's any good news it's that me and Sleepy are coming close to terms and that I may have something in the air faster than I expected. We shall see. He has a cadillac and I wasn't exactly prepared for that, but excited about the possibility. :tennis:

    N00b - RCT800 GoPro AP Build

Well, I do appreciate the advice, but y'all are rocking my world right now. I was ready to make purchases this weekend, now I'm definitely second guessing this approach. Truthfully, I was a little nervous about building something with a 3' wingspan out of the gate, but I think I could have...

    N00b - RCT800 GoPro AP Build

I completely get what you're saying and I realize I'm sort of planning for something that is in between two kinds of builds. I'm not sure what the difference would be though between doing this frame, or like a DJI 550 frame, or the 550 frame with the 800 arms (so this build but in a quad...

    N00b - RCT800 GoPro AP Build

I'll take that as a compliment coming from you. I wanted to build something more than I need and something that could grow with me. I have/had a feeling that I would outgrow a quad that was just enough for a gimbal/gopro setup quickly. Retracts, FPV, gimbal, etc will all be coming on this...

This is what I'm thinking for BEC for powering the FC and LEDs and future gimbal, and it also has the "fuel" meter for low voltage. No digital display, but this should be fine. http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/uh_viewItem.asp?idProduct=45290 Also thinking about a pair of each of these...

Death by Research: Help me pull the trigger!!

Started a build thread here, figured I might get some more feedback that way and I'm also very close to the first purchase... http://www.multirotorforums.com/showthread.php?18155-N00b-RCT800-GoPro-AP-Build

    N00b - RCT800 GoPro AP Build

Been reading several forums for a few weeks and doing lots of interweb browsing. I've come up with the following build. I'm pretty close to pulling the trigger, but would welcome feedback or advice. Ideally I'm looking for a nice stable platform to video from. Not looking for aerobatics, just...

    Run time

I'm surprised it said 15" props would fit on the 690 frame. Also, I think the details for that motor suggested a max of 14x5 props. Got any of those you could try?
