    F550 keeps flipping

I second this suggestion - When I was confused about the behavior of my quad I was fortunate enough to be able to go back to the brick-and-mortar store where I got my kit - Heli World in San Jose. The tech did a brief checkout of the build, adjusted some gains, and then did a test flight to...

    F550 keeps flipping

All your motors are turning now? I also fly the NAZA-M lite, on an F450 frame. When first lifting off with GPS mode on, mine will try to move horizontally a bit. If you don't get cleanly off the ground it would try to flip, especially if I had landing gear installed. A couple things helped...

Swollen or not swollen lipo, what to do?

I've got one too - its a 4S 4000 mAH Century pack. Probably about 20 total cycles, but over a year old so it's not returnable. Up to the last flight, I've only discharged it to about 50% (the charge puts 1700-2000 mAH back into the battery). This last flight I adjusted the cutoffs down and flew...

    Naza M Lite Question

Mine would do that until I made a minor tweak to the GPS alignment. If it drifts to the left, try adjusting the GPS antenna a degree or 2 to the right and see what happens.

Futaba + Naza + all mode failsafe setup.

in failsafe mode, yes, the indicator is solidly in failsafe. In manual, atti or GPS mode, the indicator flicks to failsafe occasionally. Recalibrating AU1 endpoints, and even inhibiting failsafe mode and the mix did not stop the flickers. However, bench running the unit it was stable, no odd...

Futaba + Naza + all mode failsafe setup.

Hi, this info is helpful, and matches a YouTube video that describes the configuration. After setting it up, I noticed one thing of concern.... While monitoring the NAZA-M-lite via the Assistant, regardless of the mode, the assistant displays the mode, but occasionally flicks to indicate...

Green LED status when boot up

Actually, it's worked in reverse sequence as well - to be safe, remove props, fire up the copter, then plug in USB. Be sure you've got the NAZA driver installed. Once you plug in USB, you should see LED go solid green. Launch DJI assistant, and if it detects the NAZA, will check it's...

    naza lite wont arm

Hi - as I mentioned in another thread, it seems that 3 greens is correct, for NAZA lite at least. I see that too, I took it to the dealer who checked it out and said all is well.

Green LED status when boot up

Yes, connects with PC just fine. In fact, I've got it connecting to Windows 7, running in a Parallels VM on a Mac :) the dji tool runs better there than on my windows 8.1 PC... I hook the USB cable up first, then plug in the battery.

    Naza Lite GPS configuration

Yep, makes total sense - thanks!

    Naza Lite GPS configuration

Ohhh I did't know about the need to recalibrate GPS when AUW changes. I added a gimbal and landing gear to my F450, and noticed that when, in GPS mode, flying straight forward and then stopping, the copter would make a small circle to the left as it comes to a stop. I had not tried...

Green LED status when boot up

Yep, mine does the same thing too. finishes with 3 green flashes. I took took it back to my local dealer, who checked it out, and said it's working correctly. As far as I can tell, it's an error in the doc.

    California flyer

Oh boy - my account status just changed to "Approaching Solo". Takes me back to the moment when, during the taxi back to the runway, my flight instructor exited the aircraft and said "OK you got it, 3 touch and goes, I'll see you back at the club office". After he shut the cabin door, the...

DJI F450 Instability on take-off and drift to the right

I'm seeing the same behavior. Naza M lite. After about 30 seconds powered but with engines off, I get the fast green flash on the ground, then take off, and get significant right drift for a few minutes. Then it stabilizes and hovers on station pretty well. A question for you - do allow it to...

Jesus! this would be scary as hell!

SOP for crosswind landings. There's two techniques - crab like that on final, then kick the rudder and drop the upwind wing just before touch down. Or keep the fuselage lined up with the runway with the rudder, and side slip by dipping the upwind wing. Either case, theres a limit, determined...

    DJI GPS --is doing circles---Help??

Here's how my flight instructor showed me how to look at it: visualize a compass rose. If your local declination is degrees east, your magnetic compass north is east of true north. To fly true north, subtract the declination from your magnetic heading. If your local declination is degrees...

    DJI GPS --is doing circles---Help??

Its changing 2.1' (minutes) per year. that means, after 30 years it will change by a degree. So, once set, I think we're good for about 15 years or so… :tennis:. A couple years ago, our local airport changed it's main runway from 30 (300 degrees) to 31 (310 degrees). First time in its...

    California flyer

Hello all, I've flown private single-engine fixed wings for years, but only recently got into RC. I've built up an F450, and am learning fast. I just discovered this forum; I've been browsing rcgroups for a while, but like the organization of this one much better. I really think flying...
