How Do You Have Your Radio Mapped?

Please share how you have your radio mapped. A photo of your radio or a table with what switch, knob, etc. goes to what function would be great. If you have any explanation of the method to your assignments that would be great as well. @BogotaMatt made a statement on another forum:"I'm going...

New Aeronavics Dampeners - Group Buy

I want to propose a group purchase of the Aeronavics (Droidworx) redesigned dampeners for USA members. There are two new harder classes that have been added recently: Hard (Part No. 406-0324) and Very Hard (Part No. 1406-0235). I have the ones that came with my gear rail assembly. I have not...

    Mechanical Connectors Availability

Are there any good mechanical connections for our UAVs available that are practical for our build projects (light weight, small)? Specifically I am thinking of: bullet connectors, lithium polymer battery connection, and other large gauge wiring connectors we use?

    Mechanical versus Solder connections

I have been reading forum posts for about a year, looking at current threads and researching the archives. I have seen mention of soldered connections versus mechanical connections; some have argued that mechanical (crimped) connectors last longer than solder joints on our vibration prone UAVs...

How Do You Avoid Sparking During Battery Connection

On my heavy lift 6S system I use 2 XT-90 connectors to plug in a pair of 10,ooo mAh batteries and there is no way to keep the first connection from sparking that I have found. The connection shows signs of electric erosion (I imagine it is a small amount vaporizing metal). Also I believe I am...

    ASMP and UAV Photographers

I am a member of American Society of Media Photographers (ASMP). They have a sUAS class series. Many of us could probably teach this but I thought it was interesting that this has become part of the ASMP. http://asmp.org/e-learning/UAV#.VAeeVNq9KSM I thought the link via one of the...

Need Ideas for a Heavy Lift Flight Control System

Hey everyone - I had a bad crash about a week ago during the testing phase of my heavy lift hexacopter. I intend on disassembling the copter and check the software and hardware to try to figure out if it was operator error or a component problem, I was using an A2 FC. While I make these...

Does anyone use the A2 system to control a multirotor and gimbal with one radio?

Does anyone use the A2 system to control a multirotor and gimbal with one radio? How do you do it? I am using a Futaba 14SG to link to the A2 unit and would like the ability to link a second Futaba receiver (mounted on the gimbal) to occasionally fly and control the pitch and roll of the gimbal...

How do you measure the temperatures and what piece of equipment do you use?

I have seen a fair amount of reference to motor or ESC temperatures. I would like to know how the multirotor community measures these temperatures? Do any of you calibrate your heat measuring devices? - Brand name and model would be helpful, along with your satisfaction of the unit. Cheers!

Tethered MR Flights - does anyone use this technique

Does anyone fly their multirotor using a tether or know of another person using this technique? I understand there are situations where the tether can supply power and that FAA rules are different for tethered flight. Thanks

New Build HexaCrafter 1100L Heavy Lift

This New Build of a HexaCrafter 1100L is going to be a slow project. Currently multirotors are not my business but I would like to explore the possibility – and here I am. I have started some phases of this project so I thought I might as well get my introduction and project goals out in the...

Parallel Charging XT90 via XT60 cable

I am going to be getting a set of 10,000mAh 6S 25C batteries. I typically install XT60 ends on my lower amperage 4S batteries and have a parallel charge board. I always make sure that all the batteries are within 0.1 volts of each other, and have not had any problems. I want to be able to...

    Hello from Las Vegas Nevada

Hello from Las Vegas Nevada, I work out in the Mojave Desert often and spend some free time capturing landscapes of our unique terrain. I enjoy the grand view but often there seems to be something in the way. When we had the fire in the local mountains, at the end of this last summer, I was...
