    Tiger-Motors U8 + 28x9,2 props

Ferdinand, I like to know as well! Pretty much giving up on U8's and from what I heard at the lidar convention in Denver the U10's are even worse. I have no idea how Riegl is getting 30 min with U8's? Not at 20+ kg. As for myself, I'll be switching to KDEXF-UAS75HV esc's with 8s packs and...

    Tiger-Motors U8 + 28x9,2 props

http://www.riegl.com/products/uasuav-scanning/new-riegl-ricopter/ Not much info. I'll be at their booth, but I'm more than likely just buy the lidar : ) I'll ask about price.

    Tiger-Motors U8 + 28x9,2 props

That's pretty cool. I'll be heading to the Riegl booth on the 23rd, so I'll definately check the new frame out. I'm thinking it's going to have a pretty lofty price tag though, on top of the VUX-1 price.

    Tiger-Motors U8 + 28x9,2 props

@FerdinandK So it seems you're doing a build of this frame. I'm a little confused about that. Can't imagine Riegl selling frames lol. Would you mind sharing?

    Tiger-Motors U8 + 28x9,2 props

Pretty interested in this particular frame. I'm currently flying a D130 X8 with U8pro motors, but love the folding H frame design. Is this frame only available from Riegl? Or are they sourcing it from someone else? We're just finishing up at a forestry forum and heading to Colorado for the...

What airframe is this? Looks like what Riegl is strapping their Vux-1 lidar head to.

    Vortex dynamic balancer

Needing a key for the new software. It's Sunday and I've got a rig that needs balancing so I was hoping you may see this. I sent an email as well, but I assume you won't be checking in until Monday : )

REQUEST TO DJI: Photogrammetric GPS and IMU data

Maybe try to change his mind lol! 5D is not a good choice even for filming work now the Black Magic pocket camera is out. So much weight with no benefit. With a 5D and a hex you're going to need to be running very efficient motors and at least 18" propellers like supreme or TMotor units. I'm...

REQUEST TO DJI: Photogrammetric GPS and IMU data

The 16mm is fine for mapping, but quality all depends on the camera/lens calibration. If you're using Pix4D Mapper, then the calibration is currently in the database. If not, check with your software vendor. No gimbal depends somewhat on the software as well. There's lots of people mapping...

REQUEST TO DJI: Photogrammetric GPS and IMU data

Triggering directly through the zen will cause serious problems with multiple exposures. Use a gent led or the tinysnapper. You'll get one photo per gps log entry. I have you're exact setup, but I have purpose built mapping rigs. The zen is overkill and severely limits you flight time.

REQUEST TO DJI: Photogrammetric GPS and IMU data

Yes, a Wookong that's not triggering a zen works fine with photogrammetry. I just wanted to clarify that so as not to confuse anyone. But compared to using Mission planner with Auducopter autopilots it's pretty clumsy. This is one of my mapping units that's still using a WooKong.

REQUEST TO DJI: Photogrammetric GPS and IMU data

About the A2, that's stated by DJI that there's no photogrammetry support. On the other hand, the photogrammetry functions are pretty weak compared to the likes of Mission Planner for the Pixhawd. The photogrammetry work flow for the WooKong is pretty crude, but it does work. Also, using the...

    Tiger-Motors U8 + 28x9,2 props

I'm finding even with the Foxtech 5108's 280kv and 18" props prove problematic with the DJI. One thing I know for sure, the esc you use is really important. SimonK firmware seems the best, but you'll run into sync problems....with just about every combination. I've suffered the odd flip from...

REQUEST TO DJI: Photogrammetric GPS and IMU data

APM is on the way out. Pixhawk is where it's at. Dual redundant sensors... Like GPS, Mag, airspeed and gyro. Even the Piski is supported. A lot of these new software features aren't supported by the 1.0 and 2.x APM boards anymore. And considering the price is pretty much the same, go PH.

PSA: Wookong DOES NOT work for Aerial Mapping.

You may be waiting for a long time... Just happen to know what the problem is and there's no solution right now. Could be ever unfortunately. Ever notice in simulation mode, if the nose isn't pointed directly towards the next waypoint (heading) it won't show any exposures (green triangles)...

PSA: Wookong DOES NOT work for Aerial Mapping.

I don't own a A2, so I can't say for sure. But if you look at what's supported, DJI specifically says the A2 doesn't support photogrammetry. What DJI is referring to is the photogrammetry tools window in GCS. Without it, you'd have a pretty hard time setting up your grids. As for precision...

PSA: Wookong DOES NOT work for Aerial Mapping.

In DJI's specifications, it states the photogrammetry function in GC isn't supported with the A2. You can still use the GC to grid, you just can't enter you focal length, sensor size, vertical and horizontal overlap. You'll have to calc the number of images, at what frq. and the distance...

PSA: Wookong DOES NOT work for Aerial Mapping.

DJI had pretty much abandoned photogrammetry. I've been asking since the isod was released. We make it work, but it's a pia! Currently we're working with three units all with WKm's, but will be swapped out for Pixhawk autopilots after a few bugs have been resolved. Right now we've got two...

    Mission Planner or APMPlanner2

They're pretty much the same but supposedly the Mission Planner will be phased out. I'm personally using the Mission Planner as it has a lot more features like being able to do photogrammetry. I presume from what I've read, all this will eventually be available on APMPlanner. I liked the idea...
