Mikrokopter Parameter (mainly PID?) tuning for windy conditions and a min gas question

Well after my successful maiden flight last night I wanted to do some more flying today. But of course it was windy (10-15mph). I went ahead and walked to my little flying spot with pockets loaded with batteries. I had set my Gyro-P and Gyro-I to my knobs/dials on the tx so I could do some...

MK FPV Heavy-lift X8 using standard ESC's and Futaba TX/RX

Thanks Dave! So excited I can't go to sleep. All I can do is think about getting it tuned and slapping the navi and gps on there to start doing some pre-programmed flights for aerial imagery. I know - patients. Shawn

MK FPV Heavy-lift X8 using standard ESC's and Futaba TX/RX

Wooohooo!!! Just took maiden flight and it was perfect for night time flight. Only thing I noticed was that after I landed and stopped motors and then restarted motors they did not all start at the same time even though they do fine on the bench. Should I go up 1 or 2 on the min gas? Otherwise...

A day out flying with the Hexa's

Hey Ken, Thanks so much for the detailed responses to my questions. Very much appreciated. I assume you shot this in R3 mode (720p 60fps), it would be interesting to try 1080p on the GoPro with your current setup. Best, Shawn

A day out flying with the Hexa's

I understand what you say about moving the rubber sheet but I don't know that I understand what you meant by "changed the material between the frame and gear rail mount". Were you referring to the rubber sheet in both statements? And when you say mounted the GoPro case on it's "foot" exactly...

A day out flying with the Hexa's

Hey Ken, That is super smooth! Did you do some sort of anti-vibration mounting modification of the AV130 beyond their rubber grommets and rubber sheet between LG mounting? Shawn

MK FPV Heavy-lift X8 using standard ESC's and Futaba TX/RX

I did have to cut some notches for the outer arm screws. I actually use the industrial strength velcro to secure it to the centerplate at 4 points. I'll be posting pics so you can see soon. Shawn

    X8 First flight PID suggestions

That's what I thought you would say!:) Already did the ESC calibration and then set min gas, then did it again (nothing to change). I only have the FC hooked up for the first flight so no compass to calibrate, right? Getting closer to maiden flight... shawn

MK FPV Heavy-lift X8 using standard ESC's and Futaba TX/RX

MK FPV Heavy-lift X8 and Futaba TX/RX I had started a build log on the "other" forum for this copter when it was using the HoverflyPro FC board. Since I am converting to MK I wanted a new build log to document how I set this thing up - primarily for my reference but also to share in hope of...

Mikrokopter Fresh build, need help please

Rick or anyone, Can someone provide an answer to this please? I am at the same point. For things like my 3-way switch that will be used for GPS does it matter if it isn't perfectly at zero in the center position? On this same switch, for example, I can get the end-points (k-values) set to...

Network solutions sucks! My wife used them for the longest time and it was a terrible experience. We now use Tiger Technologies for several years now and no issues I can think of. Hope you get it to work out. Shawn
