Can we hop over to the GH2 Info & Hacks thread with this? I have questions.

Are you running a hack on your GH2? I did not have much success with all that. Pretty much all the 'big name' patches resulted in freezes. Eventually I went through the motions of installing Sanity5 because everything else appeared too unstable, but I don't know if it actually loaded or not...

    Sony Nex-5n - downlink

As my first HDMI converter (the one with the 1/2kg metal box turned out to be a lemon and would not work at all with a GH2 I had hoped that the little GoodLuckBuy converter might also get over the Auto/Manual focus/gentLED thing, but it didn't. The phenomenon that thijmen5 describes still...

Are you shooting 1080 or 720? The Harvest video showed just a touch of the jello in places and I am wondering if that is due to the GH2 tendency to do this at 1080 that I have read about here somewhere. I shot the Château du Vivier at 720p50 because I wanted to be able to slow it down if...

Really? I cannot say I EVER had any good results leaving horizon control up to gravity. The one thing I could always count on was the horizon leaning one way or the other, depending on which direction I was flying, whether the heli turning or if the wind was blowing a bit. Sorry, but your video...

What am I missing here? Rubbish video on the ground and even worse in the air.

    Sony Nex-5n - downlink

Infinity focus with the 18mm or 16mm lens at above ƒ5.6 keeps pretty much everything sharp anyway. There is little need for constant focus control unless you are using a longer focal length lens (zoomed in). I find I have to use the focus highlight facility where it daubs great gobs of red or...

    Sony Nex-5n - downlink

I have already outlined this problem in earlier posts. This only happens when the NEX focus is set to Auto. If you set it to manual the remote shutter function will work. It is weird I know. If you unplug the HDMI cable the remote shutter release works in all focus modes but with the HDMI...

Zenmuse as a stand alone gimbal

True. I lock off the pan axis when filming solo but with the Zen being so 3-axis capable the simple skids are a rather silly restriction for a two-operator setup.

    5-axis stabilisation

So if a ZEN could accommodate a CX760 we would have 8-axis stabilization? How much more could one need? :)

Zenmuse as a stand alone gimbal

That is VERY impressive Denny. Watching the footage one has no idea how hard the Zen is working until the helicopter doorway comes into view. Second-hand market for everything else just crashed. I can't help wondering why DJI spent such a lot of effort on the gimbal and then stick with...

Been waiting (mostly on this great summer weather we've been having) since February to do this one after the initial test vid. Really nice subject to play with. It is the Château Royal du Vivier - obviously now just a ruin - that dates from the 13th century and is used to host events and...

If you need an HDMI converter...

The wrong end is angled. We need the mini HDMI at the camera end to be angled. Plus, I suspect that the whole swiveling mechanism results in it all being too bulky for the available lateral space on many MR mounts.

If you need an HDMI converter...

That's the one I got. I think I have posted the link several times. The weird thing is, the right angle is sometimes angled left and sometimes angled right. I bought two and fortuitously ended up with one of each. After going to all the trouble of finding an HDMI solution I just did a job...

    Picloc 3x setting experience etc.

It does. And, it is separate from the three options e-stop, auto and GoToHome.

Imagine that sort of gathering ever being covered (legally) by MR helicams anywhere in Western Europe. Particularly England. The East and the Third World are always more progressive with new tech and new ideas and don't get hampered by the smothering restrictions of...

    Mikrokopter Nice new MKGPXTool

Jeez, I can barely understand any of it. Are these germans clever to be able to write these programs at all or are they stupid for not doing them properly. Reading flight data off the SD card and messing with the waypoint programs isn't fun. The only-just capable programs are absolutely horrid...

Voila! The wider view, adjusted composition and different aspect ratio has changed the entire feel of the image. The whole thing now feels more comfortable and spacious. The more restrained use of the Tiltshift filter, with a wider bokeh, also makes a little more sense. It is a very...

I am so happy you did not take offence, because none was intended. The "ugly power lines etc" can sometimes be masked with some judicious use of the clone tool (:shame:)!
