Hoverfly HFP Futaba & Altitude Hold

I mainly fly 2 different weights. 10.5 and 12 lbs. I'm happy with manual flying with my gains set the way they are. However, the other day, I accidentally hit my altitude hold switch and my x8 started going to the left. Must be something else, but I guess I'd better go tune my gains for each...

Talked to Ben at HF and he directed me to the altitude hold and level tech docs.... on their web site.. He mentioned something about a 10 ft radius and a few feet less on alt hold.......

Hoverfly HFP Futaba & Altitude Hold

I'm having a senior moment here. Did this a while back and can't remember what I did. Alt Hold needs tuning. I have the Futaba T8fg and HFP flight controller. Have alti hold is set on my SD switch which is my channel 5. Instruction from HF is to set leveling first. Then do the following for...

Highlights from a summer shoot at Dewees Island

Benjamin. I think I saw that you are using a belt drive for the roll on your new brushless gimbal. I also think I read where you said the Epic balanced real nice but on the GH3 job, you had a few little glitches to clean up in your footage. I ask because I have two brushless setups. The...

Highlights from a summer shoot at Dewees Island

Curious as to if you will be using your brushless 2 axis w/ I assume the 3rd axis being your radian, for most of your future paying jobs? You mentioned that you had to software stabilize a few portions of your shoot on the brushless setup. Comparing that to your radian/Cinestar previous...

Did you use this echo anti vibration with the R/C Rotors Evolution Gimbal you wrote about 1-2 days ago? Which echo system did you purchase? They have a couple different models? If you used the echo with the R/C Rotors Evolution Gimbal, how did you attach it to the echo? thanks for the...

Help Vibration in video from Alexmos or xy8 / hoverfly...

It's not the roll motor. Changed it, same problem. Local dealer who has 2814's never answered his email or phone. Called 3-4 times. So, no replacement motor. Anyway, shelving my problem till monday or tuesday when new bearings get here. After replacing bearing, if still have problem, may...

Help Vibration in video from Alexmos or xy8 / hoverfly...

I believe I'm balanced pretty well, but perfect is a strong word. I'm as balanced or better than when I got good footage the first 2 times out 6-8 weeks ago. I used to own a steadicam pilot (it's now my MR), so I have an idea of what balance is and I'm not as balanced as I could get on my...

Highlights from a summer shoot at Dewees Island

Benjamin: Just curious on your using the brushless gimbal with a GH3 & Epic. I think I've read you fly a Cinestar 8 and I also thought you were using their gimbal. Do you think the alexmos/ brushless gimbals are better than your Cinestar gimbal & radians (assuming that's what your were...

Help Vibration in video from Alexmos or xy8 / hoverfly...

Prop balancer is a DU-BRO. I'm balancing more carefully now then when I first started and had the good footage. I just flew for 7 minutes under full load. All more seem tight except for 2 which, may have the slightest amount of play. Motors were not overly hot when I finished.... Hoovered...

Help Vibration in video from Alexmos or xy8 / hoverfly...

My x8 / xy8 built with avroto 2814's, seems to be flying steady. When I first flew a nex 5 size alexmos gimble with my gh2, my first 2 days of flying were outstanding. For the last 2 months, I been chasing some slight to too much vibration in my video footage... Can't get back to as good as I...

Highlights from a summer shoot at Dewees Island

Nice work. The sunset exposure was spot on IMO. It does make me want another beach front vacation ( I just got back 4 days ago from one). I'll have to download & view as Vimeo compression doesn't do your footage justice... Did the gimbal come with motors but not the AlexMos? They have a...

    Mikrokopter Some dimensions measurements please

I don't have a cinestar, but I think they have a 650mm 6 motor/arm hex, and 850 & 1000mm 8 motor/octo.. which is the motor to motor measurement. I went through a similar thought process and had actually ordered the carbon fiber arms. The next day I found Rusty's frames and canceled my carbon...

Bart, JZSlenker, & WebheadFred..... YES, props mounted wrong on the bottom..... Who would have thought! I owe you all some beers, wine, soda, or whatever. For all the re-soldering, changing bullet plugs, trying props, etc etc. it was just a simple error of me mounting the props wrong on...

Hoverfly Help with new problem on Hoverfly Pro gains

Batteries are new. Props are correct. It flies like butter..... my Avrottos are 770kv and I thought 12" was the max size they could comfortably turn. You are the 2nd person who has mentioned using 13" on their x8 with Avrotto's or similar sized 770 kv motors. I tried some 13x6.5's, but...

Hoverfly Help with new problem on Hoverfly Pro gains

This is making me want to pull my hair out.... You guys are saying the same thing I found when researching (lots and lots of reading) before starting my build. I was expecting 7-8.5 minutes loaded at 11- 11.5 lbs with 2x 5000mAh 4s 30-40c batteries. I almost get that 8.1 lbs. I started...

Hoverfly Help with new problem on Hoverfly Pro gains

I took my voltage beeper off and am now using time. I bring it back by 3:30-3:40 and hover till it sort of won't stay up at 50-60% throttle and I land. With 2 batteries, gimbal, and camera (gh2), it's just a tad heavy till I maybe get some 12" props that I like.
