F550 WKM went down like a sack of bricks!!!

Yup, that's what I did on every single one Did you solder on the main part of the prongs also to make it tighter?

Here is my tale after dealing with this for a month now. I 100% believe the soldering on the bullets is half-***, I also believe the wiring inside the can is sub-par and that's the reason I'm moving on. I spend $90 bucks buying 4 new DJI motors thinking "ok, I received a few bad stockers" but...

F550 WKM went down like a sack of bricks!!!

My concern email was unanswered by DJI, my suggestion is to buy a quality motor and not look back. You don't want to deal with flipping like I have over the last month. Haven't been able to toss FPV gear on from the lack of trust it won't fall out of the sky on me.

LOL, yea I wanted something with a small enough diameter where if there is an imbalance it would tip to the heavy side and it works very well! I really think the T-motors will be the ticket I'm looking for & much more efficient too

It could be that very small weight transfer that over the flight has that rear side working way to hard. I use a wine cork to balance my quad on, it makes sure there isn't a side that is over weight. I'll snap a pic of it being balanced with my little "balance cork" :-)

    Motor Maintenance

I haven't oiled my motors but then again I have 4 bran new DJI's on with 2 flights. Once I get new motors those will see oil especially flying for 10+ minutes at a time with the AZ heat

Is it balanced? I had weight more forward at one time (not balanced properly) & my front motors were hotter. They were being worked much more than the rears! Do those ESC's need to be calibrated? The 2212 T-motors will be here Wednesday!

Ok, first set of motors to "test" are the MT-2212-16 T-motors. i'll be posting back up as I'm hoping they are in stock local for a quick drop-ship pick up. These will be the direct fit replacements for my 3S set-up parallel FPV flying.

    Newbie DJI F450 Build

That would be awesome and the weather is finally getting better too! It's about a 4 & 1/2 hour drive from where I'm at in AZ. Not that bad!

    Newbie DJI F450 Build

Amazing! Wish I was local to check your stuff out and try to get a decent flying FPV'r too

    Newbie DJI F450 Build

Damn, and that's with an 8J!? I guess a big difference is your FPV gear as well using duo Rx set-up with a Helical also

    Newbie DJI F450 Build

I enjoy my DX8 and it will do all the FPV flying with my GoPro mounted on the plate. The only thing others have said is they love Futaba because of range being better. The only reason I am not changing is because being my first MR and FPV flyer I don't need to toss in more $ for no reason when...

Running Duel 2200 mah batteries in parallel, does that make it a 4400 mah?

Very nice, I figured out that on this F450 running 2 2250 mAh lipos in parallel with FPV gear the 10" Graupners barely create enough lift! if I want to run the parallel packs to get the longer flight times I will need to buy Avrotos motors and the motor extension plates in order to toss on a...

Second Naza build not as locked in as the first

I agree as I have a newer DJI F450 and it doesn't lock in like others I fly with that have older kits. But my other flipping problem is being worked out by replacing the DJI motors first, after that I probably won't even care about the more precise lock in as I have been struggling to keep such...

Running Duel 2200 mah batteries in parallel, does that make it a 4400 mah?

Personally I won't give LV control to the Naza anymore, I don't have anything right now except for that LV checker/alarm to check packs before the quad goes up and if I hear that screaming alarm it's come home ASAP. Here is a pic of my parallel set-up

He is referring to collective pitch on a Heli :)

Running Duel 2200 mah batteries in parallel, does that make it a 4400 mah?

Yes I ended up turning that off through the Assistant software. If the LVC on MR turns the LED flashing red as in low voltage it will descend. I tested that once and let me say it was NOT a soft descent either, lol
