What are your back-up tools and equipments?

Hey guys, What do you have in your gear box when you go on a field work? I transport three cases with me in which I have: * Lots of Lipos * A box full of screws in case of a problem * A full set of props. For instance, I take 3 CW and 3 CCW of current props as a back-up. *...

Improving piloting skills, keeping orientation etc.

Thank you guys. I'm going to try different methods that you mentioned. I ordered a KK board with small motors/props. I'm going to try that first. And I'll start the circle ruitines that Kilby mentioned. One thing I was doing unintentionally was talking while flying the copter. After Jes told...

Improving piloting skills, keeping orientation etc.

Hey guys, I bought AeroSIM RC for improving my piloting skills but I get bored of it. I'm not having any fun with AeroSim. I have a CC powered quad, I try to fly it indoors. And when it's not windy, I fly outside. I think I have 10-12 hours of flying experience right now. I know it's...

    Gunters new octocopter build

BTW, I'm using 40 cm long aluminium booms (OD: 16mm, 1 mm wall thickness. And it weights around 45 grams. My CFK booms on Droidworx frame(355 mm) weights 36 grams. You're right, it doesn't add much to the total weight of the craft.

    Gunters new octocopter build

Hey Gunter, I think you should stabilize the Lipo holders by connecting the free ends to the small booms. Otherwise, they will create oscillations and effect the flight. And with this design, for perfect CoG you have to plugin two batteries, always. So I'd recommend you to put the main...

    New MK firmware.86

Other changes: * GPS-Angle limit from 100 to 140 + GPS-I-Limit from 75 to 85 -> With this the MK can hold the GPS-Position at a wind speed of about 50km/h. Previously it was about 40km/h * Throttle had a ground-position of 120 instead of 127 just as the other channels. Now it was unified...

    What would you build?

My hexa went down and crashed in seconds from 15 meters when one of the motors went down. it was uncontrollable for me. I improved my piloting since that time, can i control it now? I don't think so:)

    New MK firmware.86

What I liked: * Failsafe mode, which should have been implemented long time ago, * Target altitude for coming home We had some kind of dynamic position hold before this firmware? When I move my sticks more than the treshold value set in the settings, MK is locking to that position after...

How brave are you? Hexacopter chasing kite

Hey guys, I took this video yesterday. I know I do dangerous things but... I was brave enough to fly over the sea. And here is the result. No roll / tilt compensation. Wind is 12 knots, gusting 14 knots. I didn't use FPV or ground station. So I was just chasing kite with my naked eyes. I...

Mikrokopter A piece came off a new BL, can it be soldered back on?

Yes it can be soldered.. I had the same issue while soldering my PDB. I splashed solder over one of those tiny IC and while I was trying to clean, that IC was already at loose. I think those are filters. Use a big magnifier while soldering this. I don't know exactly about the polarity, but I...

    Pete's new Tricopter Fleet

Hey Pete, It will be great if you post a video of your flight :) I want to build a small tricopter for indoors. I think I'm going to use one of my CC boards.

Droidworx Octocopter parts and motor selection

I'd go for Hexa / Y6 setup unless you're not willing to carry more than 5D MKII. Go for bigger motors like 2820, 2826. You will choose your ESCs according to your motors. Check the manufacturer web sites for how many amps does the motor consumpts. Continious power consumption should be in the...

    Please help with some dimensions

The dome size is just very close to 185mm. The important part is the center plate, the dome will fit on it if the center plate is 185 mm in diameter. For windy conditions: I fly Hexa and Quad in 15mph wind. Hexa is also very well affected by the wind. For roll and tilt, I find Hexa more...

    Please help with some dimensions

The diameter of DWX center plate is 185 mm. If you're planning to use standart dome, I recommend you not to use it. It's goint to break in a crash won't protect the electronics. You should either buy the high impact one or fit in something cheap like I did...
