Mount point and shoot on Gopro mounts

Spotted this from Rage Cams on ebay, a good solution for frame mounting point and shoots on my F450 http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/NEW-TRIPOD-MOUNT-ADAPTER-1-4-20-ALLOWS-ANY-CAMERA-USE-GOPRO-HD-HERO-2-MOUNTS-/170781000606?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item27c357439e#ht_2228wt_906

looking for suggestion on a video downlink system

Just a point on video downlink in the UK for anyone thats unaware; you're supposed to have a ham radio license for 5.8GHz over 25mA. Dont need one for 2.4GHz downlink at all.

I use real budget stuff, fpv fever Tx/Rx, 7" monitor on an old tripod, 500mAh 3S Tx battery, weighs next to nothing, I think the heaviest airborne part is the gopro AV lead which I dont want to cut because I am tight as a Scotsman....Oh wait a minuty I am a Scotsman. It works OK but I would...

Help with camera on FPV setup.

you could always try it with a BEC or S-BEC inline if you have a spare one kicking about, probably cheaper just getting a small 3S though if you dont have a spare BEC. I use a 500mAh 3S for my el cheapo Tx. It outlasts 4 2600mAh flight packs on my F450 and weighs next to nothing.

Help with camera on FPV setup.

Do you have this wiring guide, It might be some help. I notice there is no current requirement stated for the 250mW with 4S, I wonder if you need to use a 3S or 2S. http://dl.dropbox.com/u/4722284/Iftron Transmitter Information.pdf

Smooth touch!! I was curious as I believe the stock servos for the PH AV mounts and also the cinestar mount are savox 1258. I tried one of of these on my XA mount for roll axis as I was getting lots of jitter. there was a great improvement but still getting a little bit of jitter. do you get any...

    Do i need a BEC

Is the Naza's VU not actually a BEC, is this not sufficient to run the gimbal servos. I have all my red wires disconnected from my ESC's going into the Naza. so I'm powering just from the VU. I intended to run my gimbal servos from the VU also.

Just me or is fpv quad?

I fly with a 7" monitor, its not ideal, OK for framing purposes but I would prefer to use goggles, just havn't reached the top priority on my shopping list yet. Anything you need to know about FPV, I think Juz is the man to speak to.

XAircraft What should I set at beginning of X650?

Eric, the yaw wanders about on my AHRS also, I just lived with it, I have given up on mine after trying a DJI F450/naza. I just couldn't trust my X650 with a faulty FC. I actually had to resort to permanently flying it in NOR mode and it flew well like that I have to say. It was just too...

Ross, some of the pro heli guys use CCD. mainly because they use gassers. Ive seen some awesome results from MBF. after a 2 hour video sesh last week at a couple of locations only to get home and find it all jello'd :upset:, Ive been thinking of getting a HD CCD video cam myself. Steve

Hard-mounting cameras - what goes between camera and frame?

I started getting jello on my f450 and gopro where I had none before, I found one of the motor shafts was slightly bent so I changed the motor, it did improve the jello effect but I still got a little. when I first used the setup I had no jello at all so I have picked up a couple of vibration...

Just me or is fpv quad?

Hi Apostle, I also had a hard time with FPV at first. just stick with it and it will click, especially if you do fixed wing FPV. Do you have you're camera pointing more or less straight ahead? I find that easier for attitude reference. I also find it better to have a part of the craft in the...

Yes totally Andy, I wasn't knocking your idea, just thinking as you do, that It should be proportionate and affordable and driven by us rather than other entities dealing with heavier UAV and us getting grouped in with them.

This would be along the lines of Euro USC's 'Design and Construction' (LUASS) service. Its basically a good scheme but the fact remains there is no airworthiness standards for UAS <20kg from the CAA. Care would have to be taken if this were to be initiated as a requirement as we may see the cost...
