NAZA, left/front motor spinning out of control

Front left motor spinning up uncontrollably I had another thread with this problem, but the title was a little misleading so I wanted to start another. I'm having a problem with a Naza that I just got. I've been flying DJI stuff for ages (wookong) and have never seen this problem. For some...

NAZA, left/front motor spinning out of control

So I went out today for another test. I put it up into a hover and it's solid as a rock. I push it around the field a little bit and no problems at all. Then I'm hovering just a few feet away from me very still and out of no where, the front left motor ramps up speed like crazy and causes it to...

NAZA, left/front motor spinning out of control

I'm an idiot. I was thinking that the calibration was for the IMU, but it's actually for the GPS, which I don't even have installed at the moment. No wonder I'm getting nothing but errors. Kloner, the first time it happened on take off before any forward flight. I am going to check the...

NAZA, left/front motor spinning out of control

Ok, I need some help on this one. Overall problem: Naza becomes extremely unstable and rocking back and forth from the front left to rear right motors after fast forward flight. Suspected issue: Naza will not get through calibration with throwing an error message. Background:I'm a long...

Brushless Gimbal Complete - Vendor Links

I had his GO gimbal and got hosed when it was time to get any level of support from him. He sent me a servo with a bad pot on the pitch axis. Rather than try to help me, he dodged my emails and wouldn't answer anything unless I called him out about it on his RC Groups thread. He finally gave me...

3D printed brushless Gimbals - Info exchange

Nice work, Boris. I just joined a hackerspace in my area and they have a 3d printer I've been working on. I'm currently prototyping my NEX gimbal with the printer before cutting it out on the cnc. Saves money on CF that way. Can't wait to see some footage from your gimbal! -Terry

    XAircraft Still in business

I've been using the 650 frame for my FPV craft. I get my spare parts from RC Timer. They cloned that frame ages ago, and the parts are cheap as can be.

Arm Extension Plate - Aluminium or Carbon fiber?

I do actually have one set left. I had them milled from 3mm carbon fiber. Extremely strong. The arms would probably break before these extensions would. Let me know if you are interested. I'll give you a good deal on my last set. This is what they look like installed.

    Super Flame Wheel 700mm

That ultracote is going to create a lot of extra drag in your prop wash. Those arms are designed to let a lot of that cut through the arm itself, so you are loosing some lift and probably creating some vibration compared to not having it on there. It looks neat though.

The most tricked out GoPro 3 Black you will ever see

Wow... if only you could buy this. They only rent them for $250 a day. I only hope GoPro sees this and likes the idea of swappable lenses. http://nofilmschool.com/2013/03/gopro-hero3-interchangeable-lenses-novo-camera/

Meetup with Dr Vijay Kumar of Grasp Labs @ U of Pennsylvania

I was fortunately enough tonight to be able to make it out to a meetup in DC with Dr Vijay Kumar. Most of you probably know of his work from Grasp Labs at the University of Pennsylvania. They are the ones responsable for all the cool swarms of quads you see from time to time doing amazing stuff...

dreamy Santa Monica shot. Who shot this?

I've seen that guy before. He does some amazing 3D design and video work also. If I remember correctly, he flys a small quad with an Open Pilot CC board, but there has to be some kind of serious stabilization going on in post. It's solid, either way. He did one of my favorite FPV videos, this...

DJI listed on Huff Post as 1 of 12 companies to cash in on drones

Interesting that only one civilian company made the list, and it was DJI. You can tell Huff Post knows so much about this topic. Check the list at the bottom of the article. DJI is the last one, number 12. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2013/03/11/companies-making-drones_n_2849569.html...

    Naza won't calibrate

Long time DJI user, but this is my first Naza. I've had a Wookong for ages now, and never had this issue. I just replaced a CC3D board on my FPV quad with a brand new Naza. Everything worked great before the swap and I was doing 40+mph dive bombs and pulling them out within a foot of the...

    Extra long F550 arms.

I'm using them. They seem pretty solid with very little flex. I'm still on 4S with Avroto motors spinning 12inch APC props. This set up works great.

    Help with a new gimbal

When I did have it hooked up, I was only using it with a 2nd radio that my wife used to frame the shots. I planned to hook up a CopterControl board for stabilization, but just never got to it. Now I've sold the CC board. I'll post up the results of my brushless gimbal build here as well when...

    Help with a new gimbal

I've ripped mine apart now and plan to use some of the parts to build a brushless gimbal. I already have motors and a controller board on the way. I was able to get it working, but by the time I did I wasn't even interested in it any longer. The bad pot that shipped with the gimbal was in metric...

    Help with a new gimbal

I should have updated this thread, I got it solved a couple weeks ago. kloner hit on the head, the pot was bad. The manufacturer kepting trying to dance around that, but he finally sent me a batch of them in case any went bad again. I love nachos, if you need a servo for yours, I have an...
