    Apm power module

I thought the idea of using an AttoPilot sensor was to keep track of the capacity of the battery? I was told that was more accurate than voltage readings. I used them successfully when I had APMs. If the OPs issue is that the AttoPilot melted then he probably should move up to the 180Amp...

MultiWii / NAZE / SP Racing F3 APM 2.6 connections

They say you don't have to because with JP1 off (which it should be if you are using the power module) the output positive rail that the ESCs are connected to and the Input positive rail that the receiver is connected to will be isolated. Having said this, I had some crazy noise issues on my APM...

    Drone Pilots Association

My first impressions weren't good so I'm going to reserve judgement for now. The DroneLawJournal just rubs me the wrong way for some reason. One thing I do know, and that is I will _never_ join an organisation with the name 'Drone' in it. Anyone who chooses that name is way out of touch IMHO...

Aeronavics / Droidworx Under 7kg options

I just weighed my gear today. The CAME-TV gimbal with GH4 weighed in at at 3Kg. The batteries weigh about 1Kg each and the AUW is just on 9Kg which means the copter is 4Kg. It's an Aeronavics SkyJib Lite octo in coax configuration. It flies great. I suppose I could loose a bit of weight by going...

The part I dread: choosing a Gimbal

Interesting you would say that. I've spent that last few days test flying my CAME-TV 7000 with Alexmos 32bit three axis controller without much success at all. I noticed in the manual (yes I succumbed to actually RTFM) it mentions in a few places settings that are essentially only for hand held...

Show what you filmed - Post Your Video Here

Isn't it great to work on projects like that? I really liked the editing style and in particular the final aerial shot panning forward and then back out. I thought it was very effective.

    XAircraft SuperX

I've got the throttle channel on my Taranis set to a max of 1625 whereas all the others are at 1500. I'm pretty sure I did this to deal with the ESCs not arming or seeing the max throttle as max. But it was long ago so I'm not entirely sure. Wish I could be of more help.

XAircraft Any Xaircraft guys in SouthWest UK?

Actually, after toggling the switch the first time and getting the blinking you describe it should then start flashing slowly. Then you toggle the flight mode switch again to enter calibration mode. So something else is wrong. Are you near any metal, have a phone in your pocket etc? You need to...

XAircraft Any Xaircraft guys in SouthWest UK?

Can you describe how you calibrated the compass and what the status light was showing at each stage?

    XAircraft SuperX on heavy lifter

My hexa does exactly what you experienced at 3.5V per cell. Do you have telemetry that was showing low battery as my SuperX starts flashing a warning at 3.5V. Did you set the battery warning in config? If the battery was back to 15V afterwards maybe it's not up to the current demand of the six...

    XAircraft SuperX on heavy lifter

The log shows that the batteries went down to 14.3V which is 3.5V per cell. Looks like it did run out of juice. What size battery was it? Are you using one or two?

    XAircraft SuperX on heavy lifter

I've heard the same. But I waited for the later shipping models for exactly this reason. Let me know what you find out. Cheers.

    Hobbyking Lipo's.

Same here. My larger Nanotechs are going puffy so I've moved to the Zippy compacts on my hex and quad. Working just fine.

DJI is going to release its DropSafe parachute system

I'm not convinced. The product demo shows a pretty small chute, it looks like CO2 deployment and is heavy. Being DJI it will probably be priced very high as well. I've been looking at using a couple of MARS 58's for my Skyjib which would cost almost $800 for two. Out of curiosity, how many...

    XAircraft SuperX on heavy lifter

I tried this settings and didn't get any throw in the negative at all. So I tried -20 to 20 and now the logs show close to -100 to +100 with zero at the middle detent. I'm not sure why we would get such different settings but that's the best I've had it so thanks for your suggestion.

    XAircraft SuperX on heavy lifter

What a coincidence. I was just doing the same test at my workbench and logged on to have a look at this thread because the results were so odd. I don't understand why it goes from a plus range to a large negative when turning the S2 knob CW. Very similar results to yours. I thought I'd contact...

    Came 7000 3 axis gimbal?

That's OK, I can video me connecting it up and showing them that the error led is blinking. I can also demonstrate that after setting the 'Flash' jumper that it won't accept a firmware upload. I have a lot of experience with Alexmos boards but I understand why they want to do some checking. I'm...

    Came 7000 3 axis gimbal?

I finally heard from CAME-TV staff today. They want me to to video the issues I'm having and show the setting I'm using etc to confirm the board is not working. They have stated that if it's truly not working (which it isn't) that they will replace it. Stay tuned...

    Came 7000 3 axis gimbal?

That's what I meant by needs some tuning. I'll be damned if I know how to get rid of it. I suspect it's related to the Droidworx quick release camera mount as it was much worse before I tried their new green hard dampeners. If I could figure out how I'd love to remove their mounting system and...
