    Alexmos 32bit

Hate to mention something so simple but it caught me out. Check that the IMU is mounted firmly. If it comes even a little loose it can vibrate in place which will screw up everything. Are you using the two IMU setup? Obviously, check both.

GoPro Hero 3 to GoPro Hero 4 Comparison

The GoPro does not have a fish eye lens. It has a very wide angle lens. Like most wide angles it will show distortion if not kept level. If you set the GoPro to medium FOV and keep it relatively level you'll notice that it looks much better. Also, the distortion introduced by the extreme wide...

    Pixhawk Feedback?

Thanks for your time Rob. Some interesting points in there. I guess at the end of the day we have to agree to disagree. It's a shame we are so far apart as I'd love to have these conversations over coffee and more importantly to fly together. I am quite intrigued by your traditional helis which...

    Pixhawk Feedback?

I actually said under development. There is a difference. That's an issue for me. Too many developers taking it too many directions. The other flight controllers are less complicated and seem to have locked things in better for the needs of aerial photography. You yourself once identified that...

    Pixhawk Feedback?

I had a few crashes over the 9 or 10 months I tested Arducopter on my SkyJib. In comparison and almost as a control case, I was flying with a friend with a similar copter that has never crashed and is extremely stable. I started before the Pixhawk was around. It probably cost me about $1,000 in...

    Pixhawk Feedback?

Actually, Canberra UAV won the outback challenge, not Tridge. I'm a member of CUAV and have known Tridge for quite some time. I do a lot of photography and video for the team. Several other teams using Pixhawk did _not_ win the contest. So what's your point? Comparing Tridge using beta software...

    Pixhawk Feedback?

That is nice. Great to see someone using something other than a Phantom to lift the GoPro. But when I said professional AP I was referring to heavy lift copters. Show us something done with a full size DSLR or a Red Epic being flown using a Pixhawk FC. I have no doubt that the Pixhawk can fly...

Last I heard he was living in Los Angeles far far away from the crocodiles. Well, unless you count lawyers. He spent a lot of time fighting the Australian Tax Office, but he did win.

I had the date wrong for the event so I've uploaded a new version.

Hi everyone. Here's a quickie that Bluerex and I put together for a local event. We shot for a couple of hours and put this together overnight just for fun and to support them. Once again, long way to go to reach the gold Kloner standard but thought you would be interested to see what we are up...

Very impressive! I'm quite amazed that the GoPro started to melt yet the Phantom lived to fly anther day. Amazing video.

    Lake Days MileHigh Video

I loved the splashing water sound effect at the end. Very few people pay attention to the audio portion of aerial videos other than just adding music. Looks like you had a great day out there.

CASA (Australian) UAV controller / operator certificate

The price of the training is actually more than $1,000 less than the other two providers of the RPAS course in Australia. And it's the only training to date in Australia that is multlirotor based. So right now, it's very good value. I'm signed up to take it in October and can't wait. I don't...

    Pixhawk Unstable Yaw

I've had quite a few copters fly well with the APM/Pixhawk. But like you, I had a Droidworx XM6 hexa that had the same type of yaw issue. I tried everything to get rid of it to no avail. In frustration I changed the flight controller which took care of it. Never did figure it out so I'm most...

I've got a long way to go before I get to Kloner class but here's a video I did with my quadcopter and GoPro while driving around the countryside of New South Wales in Australia. I thought some of you might enjoy seeing what Spring looks like here. Cheers.

Kloner - I hate you. In the nicest way of course. :-) Such stunning work. I just love your work and use it all the time as an example of the best that's out there. Congrats. Please come to Australia and fly. I'll buy the beer.

First go at shooting a pano Here’s my first go at stitching together a pano made up of four photos taken from my DroidWorx Aeronavics hexacopter with a Sony NEX. I usually use the excellent program “Hugin” to do such things but it was giving me a bit of grief so being late at night I just...

    Pixhawk Feedback?

I seem to recall that 3DR now offer a power module that handles 6S. If not, it's coming RSN. But there are certainly knock off power modules on eBay as I have a couple. They support up to 6S. Using the power modules is nice as you get voltage/current readings in the GUI but I've powered Pixhawks...

    Pixhawk Feedback?

No, I am not sure. As you pointed out with the Canadian regs the language is a bit 'grey' in nature. But the old fart purists insist that any type of autonomous flight is a no no. In reality it's probably safer to fly with the autonomous systems but so far nobody has come up with any proof of...

    Pixhawk Feedback?

Sorry, I should have mentioned I live in Australia. Autonomous flight is not legal here. Pilots must be in total control of the copter at all times and LOS is required. It is possible to get exemptions from CASA but it's a hassle. I'm actually a big fan of autonomous flying but until it's _much_...
