    Droiders WMK F460 frame build

Yes, the new XA hexa frame can be found here: http://www.cnchelicopter.com/servlet/the-2120/Xaircraft-Hexa-Frame-carbon/Detail. Although the DJI F450 and the XA 450 framesets look very similar, they are not quite the same. Even the arms are a bit different. the XA hexa uses the same X450 arms...

    Futaba T8FG Super Setup

If it is slow, it is probably masking the drift problem, unless you are lucky enough to have a compass/IMU combo that doesn't have this issue. In any case, Sidney said to give them a few more days, so that is what I'm doing. -- Gary

Improving the video performance of a PS1 mkTR Pro camera gimbal/mount...

Yes, I will give that a try, thanks. :) -- Gary

Improving the video performance of a PS1 mkTR Pro camera gimbal/mount...

Not sure anyone is paying attention to this, but in the odd chance that somebody is, here's another update. :) I found a major source of the bad vibes I was getting. It turns out I had a bent prop adapter, from my very first flight with the WK-M, back when I was using the PM cable DJI provided...

    Futaba T8FG Super Setup

I heard from Sidney this morning on this. He says that it only happens on certain combinations of IMUs and compasses. This may explain why some people just aren't seeing the same thing that you me and Ken, to name a few, have seen. In any case, they are working on a software fix that will take...

Improving the video performance of a PS1 mkTR Pro camera gimbal/mount...

I've done some testing, with mixed results. Actually, the modified mount worked quite well. This X8 platform, however, has some major vibration issues. Even with the isolation on the mount, pretty severe vibrations are still getting through to the camera. I could see the green and pink pool...

Improving the video performance of a PS1 mkTR Pro camera gimbal/mount...

There's a couple things I like about the mkTR Pro mount, from PhotoShip One. The first is that overall, it is very light. The second is that it has a very effective vibration isolation scheme, which uses two frame-mounted platforms, that also serve as battery trays, that have these very squishy...

    CineStar 6 WKM build

I'll check that out, thanks. :) Yes, boring... I saw a wisp of a cloud go by, the other day, and it partially blocked out the sun for a few minutes. Everybody got depressed and tempers flared. Then the cloud moved on, the sun reappeared and the smiles returned. The rainy season was finally...

    CineStar 6 WKM build

Sounds promising, Ken. Where did you order these props from? It's full-on winter here, too. I doubt it will get above 65 today. :cold: :highly_amused: Same old boring clear blue skies as well. :tennis: Sorry, couldn't resist... :) -- Gary

    Gimbal output test...

I finished setting up/calibrating my new WK-M - XA FC/AHRS setup, where I'm using the XA bits to only control the gimbal. I switched to a regular (i.e. -- non-S.Bus...) 14-channel receiver, so I could assign two sliders to the tilt and roll adjustment functions, and so that I can use both X2 and...

    CS8 to X8 conversion - Herkules ESC III V3

The thing is that the vibration isolation on the CineStars is so good that you may not even have to balance the props. In any case, I know that generally on the larger MK setups, people tend to use larger 13 and 14" props. The problem is that with the WK-M, big props like these tend to induce a...

    CS8 to X8 conversion - Herkules ESC III V3

Actually, I think I'd either go with higher kV motors, and/or run it on at least 5s. Or, use those motors but on 6s. The reason is that it seems the WK-M works better with smaller, faster spinning props. My CineStar 6 isn't flying yet, but I'm using motors with a kV of 700, on two 5s-5000 packs...

    DJI Naza

I hope it has the Voltage Monitoring function because it will do a gentle descent when the battery gets too low, which is a lot more likely, in my case, than a radio failure. :) Also, I never could get my FY-90Q setup dialed in very well. I know you can get "under the hood", and tweak the PID...

    WMK Cinestar 6 & 8 builds

Thanks. :) I agree with Ken, the CineStar's vibration dampener scheme is the real "secret sauce" of this design. I think Tabb has a patent on it. Anyway, it works really well. :) -- Gary

Thanks, Gunter. :tennis: Man, this thing is a beast. Surprisingly light, though, for its size. -- Gary

    WMK Cinestar 6 & 8 builds

Attached are some pics of my CineStar 6 build. I still have a bit to go, but hopefully, I'll have it flying by the weekend (assuming I can stay off of RCGroups' DJI thread... man what a frustrating experience this whole gimbal issue has turned into... :black_eyed: ). Anyway, I still need to...

    Gimbal output test...

I did another test, which is to unplug the GPS module. This actually "fixes" the problem, because the system never finds enough sats to get out of the mode where it is flashing red three times. So, this is at least a workaround that lets me fly without the twitches in ATTI mode. Also, I was...

    Gimbal output test...

I'm still trying to get my problem sorted, with the gimbal outputs drifting/hunting/twitching around the neutral point. This only happens once the system finds at least five sats, so that it is flashing the red LED twice, once, or not flashing. Sidney thinks it might be a problem with just my...

    WMK Cinestar 6 & 8 builds

I made some progress today, on my new CineStar 6 setup. I still need to do some sort of platform to carry the WK-M widgets. This is setup for mk electronics, normally, so I will need to do like Ken did, and use a center section from something else as a platform. I have several center sections...

    Do not load firmware V4.22

I just did some more tests, and found that the drifting/wandering scales up with the gains. What I mean is that if you increase the gain, like to the max of 100, you will see that angular "jumps" it makes, between steps, is a lot more. The net result is, for instance, if I set the gain on an...
