Newcomer needs help with FPV time delay

You haven't even done enough research into this technology to know about video downlinks, yet you are out doing this for profit as a "business?" Lord help us all. This is what the DJI Phantom is doing to this hobby. That is like a traditional photographer not knowing about a flash. 101 level info.

    GPS tracking

^^^ that is about the only method that would work for what you are thinking. The problem is that the aircraft will not send it's GPS coordinates to a service that is available online. At best, you will be able to have a direct communication via a telemetry module. The problem with that though is...

    Sony NEX for stills: settings?

Hey gang, I was just curious how you are setting up your Sony NEX (5, 6 or 7) for taking stills from your multi rotor. Just this year I started using it, but I've spent so much time focusing on new gimbals and other equipment, that I haven't dived in very deep to the settings of the camera...

Not much can compare to this

Isn't this the same company that supplied quads to the Libyan rebels when they were trying to out Gaddafi? I think that it was even the same model, just a few years older.

You shouldn't be flying that far out to begin with, it's very dangerous.

Maker Camp: Building a quad with the kids

I thought I would share a little something we put together for the summer. My wife and I were invited to work with Maker Camp in Baltimore this year. We designed a 2 week workshop for high school kids to learn the fundamentals of multi rotor flight, design and piloting. There will be flight...

    What's your Twitter handle?

I've been trying to get a little more active on Twitter lately. We are making an honest attempt to post regularly including photos and video that we shoot. I follow a lot of different UAV folks on there, but I was thinking that I don't recognize many from here. We should start a thread with...

For Sale: Carbon Fiber DJI arm extension kit

For what it's worth, I still have 1 set of these floating around my workshop. I know we have a lot of new members on here flying flame wheel frames, so I thought I would give this post a bump. Complete set of 6 Carbon Fiber (3mm) 10cm extension plates. This will convert your F550 to an F650 and...

Animal Planet using MR's like crazy

Last night the wife and I watched a new show on Animal Planet called "Treehouse Masters." It's pretty cool, but it struck me as odd how much of the show is shot via multi rotor. It's quite a bit. How is it that we are not allowed to do this commercially, yet you can't turn on the TV these days...

    Aerial Video Service Rate Sheet

Hi KaspInc. It's great to see someone that is doing things by the book and making a go of it. If you don't mind, could you share some info about what it takes from an insurance perspective to get into a legit business like this? I see lots of people that just go out and do this, but have zero...

DJI Zenmuse H3-2D Gimbal for GoPro.

It looks like its just under $700 US after you convert to dollars. I'm not sure if that will be the same price from the US distros, but we will see.

    Aerial Photography/Video Cost

I doubt you will get many replies from anyone in the US. If you didn't know, it's technically not legal to set up an aerial photography business in the US using unmanned aircraft. Do some research. If you are just getting into this and want to set up a business, think again. It will likely be...

Best way to cut CF booms?

Thanks, Yuri. I was thinking the same thing about the cutter after I thought about it. I'm going to give the hacksaw a try.

    DJI F550 heavy conversion

I think I have mine at 250/250/150/160 and atti 80/80. Mine hovers at 50%, always has, even with the Avroto's and 11's.

Best way to cut CF booms?

That's the answer I was looking for. Thanks, Bart. I like the idea of doing these 4 at a time. T-Strike, I think I'll grab one of those pipe cutters in the meantime. I like the idea of cutting without a load of dust. That stuff is nasty!

Best way to cut CF booms?

Anyone have a recommendation for cutting 1mm walled carbon fiber booms? In the past, I've always used a small hand saw and a miter box, but that was for much smaller booms. These are 25mm outside.

    Naza help

I program a second switch to engage failsafe, then then have my 3 position switch tuned to atti-atti-GPS. I don't use manual for anything except when it's time to calibrate the compass.

VuAir Little wings - handheld S800+Zenmuse

This makes no sense to me. If you want a hand held system, build a 3 axis brushless gimbal and be done with it. It's a fraction of the weight and cost, plus you don't have to worry about possibly damaging your hexa while still in the ground. If I'm filming something on the ground, the last thing...
