    F450/Naza FPV build...

The 9x5x3 GWS props are harder to balance, but its well worth the effort, in my opinion. The 10x5 stock props, and even the Graupners, make so much noise that I have been attenuating the onboard audio down about 15dB in the videos I've posted. I didn't do this at all with this last one. Almost a...

    F450/Naza FPV build...

Stephen, how are you? Still flying your mk setup, or have you moved on to something else? Did you go out to the AMAexpo yesterday? I didn't make it. I think the Naza will be a great FPV controller, if for nothing else than the altitude hold function. :) I've got second Naza now that I'm going...

    F450/Naza FPV build...

To paraphrase a popular saying, "What a difference a prop makes!" I was having gain adjustment issues, with the 11x5 Graupners, which I knew would be way too much prop for this little guy, especially on 4s, so I was about to switch to the stock 10x5s when I remembered something. Before, when I...

Are you using the Voltage Monitor?

Yes, I use the built-in VM function on both my WK-M - equipped XA Hexa, and on my F450/Naza setup. I use 3.4V per cell for the 1st level, and 3.3V per cell for the second, and I use .2V for the "Loss" value for both. So, for my 4s setup, I set the 1st level "No Load" box to 13.8V, which makes...

WKM firmware version 5.0 is available

Oh the problem is still there, regardless if it is being masked via mount geometries and/or gain settings. I've heard from Frank (DJI principle...) directly now that they have identified the problem. It seems the GPS data will cause a slight .1-.2 degree shift in the attitude data in the IMU...

    MK to WKM conversion

Wow, I did miss that. Bummer. :dread: Do you know what caused the #4 ESC to fail? I've never even heard of one of these failing before. I do know that the WK-M does not try to compensate if an ESC/motor quits. I still don't know why, but I've had two instances now, where my #1 motor has stopped...

    F450/Naza FPV build...

Although I haven't flown it in over a year, I used to have quite a bit of fun with an FY-90Q - equipped Gaui/ VC450 transplant, as an FPV platform. I decided that the F450/Naza build I was working on would be a perfect replacement setup. I used the AKE ESCs and motors that came with my XA Hexa...

    MK to WKM conversion

Just getting caught up, reading all the threads here. Ken, did I miss the one where you crashed your CS6? I think you are spot-on with your conclusions regarding weight vs prop size. I just got my first Naza/F450 in the air, and I'm having a heck-of-a-time getting the gains adjusted to remove...

DJI Naza as APV flight controller

Changing to a separate battery got rid of the noise problem for me, without having to resort to doing much else. Although range is not that big a deal for this setup, I think I would get fewer dropouts with better antennas. I'm using a 3dB whip on the F450 and an 8dB patch on the receiver end...

WKM firmware version 5.0 is available

One disappointment: The damn gimbal drift/GPS lock problem still has not been fixed. :dread: -- Gary

    DJI WKM wish list

Tony, over on RCGroups, had a crash on his WK-M - equipped Y6, where it appeared he lost one motor. Also, I can verify that I too have had a problem where one motor stopped, on a hex, and the WK-M did absolutely nothing to try and compensate. It was the M1, front right motor, and the hex simply...

DJI Naza as APV flight controller

I too have my "initial" F450/Naza combo setup for FPV. I'm using a 200mW 900mHz video Tx, and found the only way to get usable video is to have a small separate battery, just for the Tx. -- Gary

DJI-Naza Hexa what r your settings??

I have an XA hexa but it currently has a WK-M on it. I also have a Naza, but it is on a F450 frame. On my Hexa, I have the WK-M's basic gains set to 130%, 130%, 140% and 110%. The Attitude gains are both set at 85%. -- Gary

One motor shutting down shortly after startup.... Why?

Just out of curiosity, was it motor number 1? I have had a similar problem with the number 1 motor/ESC shutting down on my XA hexa. I'm going to move things around, when I rebuild this, and see if the problem follows. My setup uses 30A Maytech ESCs and Hyperion 2213-22 motors, running on 4s, and...

    DJI WKM wish list

I'd still just like to have the gimbal outputs work without wandering/drifting about the neutral point, once the GPS is initialized. :) -- Gary

    2nd Hex Crash :(

I've done some more checking/theorizing on my issue, and it looks like what happened to me is that I lost the front-right motor (#1) power, which caused it to tilt over that direction. I couldn't see this from the ground as the sun was in my eyes just prior to that, but you can see this in the...

    2nd Hex Crash :(

I had a similar problem before, with a loose battery connection, due to using regular Deans, and the so-called Cheans copies. This one cut all power. If yours was just one motor, I'd look at the motor wires. Are you using small bullet plugs, by chance? These have a history of working loose. -- Gary

    2nd Hex Crash :(

I too just had a crash of a WK-M - equipped XA hexa. I think in my case I just stung by this 10% throttle cut issue. Were you also descending at the time? I was doing a test flight, trying to get the gains sorted out, and it ended up cutting power and dropping like a rock from about 50-60...

    DJI with Kontronik Kobe

Here are some 40A Maytechs from an Australian site, which already have the higher update rate, have a 16kHz PWM setting (less motor whine...) and are good up to 6s. :) -- Gary

Is this ESC ok with WKM?

Yes, these will work fine. I'm using the exact same 30A Maytechs on my Hexa, with a WK-M setup. What's nice about the Maytechs is that they have 400Hz update rates, which is good for use with most multi rotor controllers, including the WK-M, and these have a 16kHz PWM setting. Most of the...
