    A good day gone bad

**** happens, quite a lot!! Man SR's are so much less hassle, at least when you stoof it you know its your own fault, no head scratching, and crapping it, wondering if its going to behave itself next time up.

    'twas abit windy!

To be honest Rich, Manual on Naza is not much cop, OK for a belt about, but if you lose orientation things can get a bit prickly. You will probably need to reduce your Rates or put a bit of expo in for manual Naza. If you like the more manual feel its nice to dial your auto level gains right...

    'twas abit windy!

Nice one Rich, I dont think DJI's GPS hold can be matched at present, by the sounds of it, at least not by any other hobby grade GPS/FC. I am quite amazed by mine in wind...man it just sits there pitched into wind. Not sure what you mean by dropping out of failsafe in GPS/ATT modes. I have my...

    Weird problem with new ESC's

Due to the LVC enabled? Thanks Kloner, will get a programming card. I think I have this happen, strange behaviour on one particular pack, not total loss of control though, rapid descent like a falling leaf.

    Weird problem with new ESC's

I could not get a calibration through the Naza, had to do it indiidually from ch3 of the Rx. Kloner is it essential to program the pentium 40's first. All the ESC's I have used till now,,,well basically just Plush 18A seem to work fine on stock settings.

Using Naza as gimbal control only

The Naza is not renowned for its gimbal stabilizing performance.

Lipo - when is puffy to puffy

Ah yes, That must have been what happened to me Kloner, on a couple of occasions I would take off with a dodgy battery unknown to me. I would get about 30secs flight then the thing would start large oscillation on a rapid descent. I never thought about the ESC LVC. I was a little baffled as to...

    8FG & Naza set-up

Bloody well done for getting it back though!! Ist flight and all, I'd have just dropped it, in fact I still see the indentations of 4 prop shafts on my car bonnet (hood to the Americans). shame I cant see the vid, too slow a connection out here, you know what its like.I can see the little stills...

    Hoverfly Carefree Mode ?

I find it freaky, I dont like it, if things are going that bad I would rather switch RTH failsafe if it was clear LOS. My Tuppence.

    Wow! Just... wow!

Wish I could see it. (Internet too slow in Atlantic). Is it Henning Sandstrom's? His work is big part in why I started trying to do AP/AV

F450, NAZA & GPS a few months in

For your interest Kloner. http://magnetic-declination.com/ Can be tricky getting it into calibration mode, tried for ages, cant rightly remember what I did in the end, I think it was down to the speed of switching and starting on GPS, Man my memory sucks, I should write stuff down!!:shame:

3.46° with me, I dont get a solid hold without a slightly larger offset, but its tight as hell with.

    GoPro 3

I wouldnt be inclined to fly FPV with a GP3 either. The enhancements on the 3 would be far more apparent for AV than FPV. I reckon if the right FOV modes are available in the higher def and frame rate modes, they could have nailed it. very curious to see some footage. All I want is 1080 50p...

F450, NAZA & GPS a few months in

Have you done a successful compass calibration? and do you get slow flashing green LED in GPS mode? Do you have the magnetic variation offset on your sensor head?

    GoPro 3

I did exactly the same and bought the GP1 about 3 days before the 2 was announced....annoying huh!! Think I'll sell the 1 and 2 and get a 3.

If you can fly one multi rotor can you fly them all ?

I fully support your concept Gary. What springs to mind though, when comparing it to the situation with microlights, gliders and balloons is that these are all recreational licences, (I believe commercial priveledges may be issued on them). I think rightly or wrongly, the situation changes when...

    Hoverfly Hoverfly GPS

Shielding the wire would be a hell of a hassle and still would not shield the power dist board, could wrap foil round the looms and heatshrink, or source shielded wire of right spec and change it. Isolation is the way to go I think

    Hoverfly HFP ready frames?

VulcanUAV frames will take the HFP with no drilling required, the existing multitude of predrilled mounting makes it very versatile, incidentally I also fitted the Cinestar 2x gimbal mounting frame straight on the bottom plate, not on the specific AV mountings but the rubber standoff type. In...
