New Release: Connex HD Video Downlink 3000FT $1599.

Mine arrived today... the packaging is impressive. Hopefully will be testing soon with a GoPro on a smaller rig, once the weather gets better.

    Ascent Aerosystems, Sprite

I remember that, pretty neat idea. My idea was a lot different though, plus I'm not looking to sell it. Personal fun :D

    Ascent Aerosystems, Sprite

This is very similar to something I thought up while I was playing with a coaxial Blade MCX2 overseas. I guess I need to get cracking on that idea...

Okay, that's a pretty cool concept... I want one.

New Release: Connex HD Video Downlink 3000FT $1599.

I should have one in a week or two! My camera operator is shipping it to me. Really looking forward to trying it out.

Want to attract talented people with advanced concepts?

I keep seeing the term "advanced concepts", but I have yet to see any details except waterfalls and fans from Harbor Freight... I don't think I've been permanently banned from a forum but I'm pretty diplomatic :D

What kind of forum is this?

Jay, you'd probably get a larger response if you had already done something vs throwing out ideas. If it's an idea, you need to be prepared to get it critiqued. As for the mods being the primary responders to the thread, well, they're on here all the time out of necessity, and they're part of...

2015 NAB News: Blackmagic Micro Cinema Cam, Tiny, Drone-Specific Super16 RAW Camera

Yep. It's hard to find a simple, easy to use and (somewhat) reliable system that does its job better than the Phantom and Inspire offerings, if you want still photos along with video.

Manual Mode? Atti Mode? GPS Mode?

Yep. Different companies give their modes different names. Acro, sport, drift, guided, circle, position, follow me, heading lock, home lock, loiter, rate, angle, horizon, baro, mag, headfree, attitude, GPS, etc... there isn't much standardization on terms from what I've seen. That being said...

    How the Pros fly

I fly both single and dual-operator. I disable manual on the large birds (Cinestar X8 and Skyjib X8) because I never, ever use it except in testing (when it can easily be re-activated. I view the chance of accidentally flipping into manual far more of a liability than the miniscule chance of...

Show what you filmed - Post Your Video Here

Nice! Yeah, some people are a little unwilling to let you fly close to them, whether it's their own skill level or yours that they're worried about. I'm lucky enough to have a club where we fly full contact combat and things like that regularly... people don't usually worry too much about their...

First time chasing someone else with my Tarot FY650 :) Got a few seconds of decent video. I'm looking forward to doing more of this, especially with warbirds.

    Foxtech Pivot V2 retracts... anyone?

I spent a long time doing that last night... I THINK they're JST-ZH. Right pitch anyway according to my calipers. Unfortunately I'd have to crimp my own since I can't find any pre-built extensions, so... bleh. I think I'll just solder some extra wire onto these just to test them for a while.

    Foxtech Pivot V2 retracts... anyone?

I was hoping to avoid that so that I could do drop-in replacements, but it looks like I might have to. Ugh.

    Foxtech Pivot V2 retracts... anyone?

Oops... crap, I just fixed the typo. I meant plugs, not plus  I thought they were JST-PH, but as I said those didn't work (they're close in design, but about 150% too large).

    Foxtech Pivot V2 retracts... anyone?

Could one of you guys identify the plugs used on the retract wires? Are they proprietary? I need extensions because my gear legs are mounted so far apart and I just learned the hard way that they aren't the plugs I thought they were (wasted money on THAT order...)
