    Joystick controllers

I have an issue... I work with a couple of different camera operators. One is an old-school type who prefers to use control wheels, so he uses a very nice set of Veracity wheels for his work. The other is different, he just prefers a joystick. However, as most of you know, RC transmitter sticks...

    Good Video, Unfortunately....

^ Education is the only way. Any time someone is curious or suspicious, give them a bright smile, invite them to watch the monitor or try on the goggles, explain bits and pieces, show your passion for it. Tell them about the rules and regulations already in place and make it obvious that you...

    Good Video, Unfortunately....

All it takes is a single pellet to crack a wooden prop, though, even at a longer range. As multirotors become more common I'm afraid we're going to see even more of this. I'm an avid shooter myself and there's a very disturbing number of people cheering on things like this across the internet...

HobbyKing goes "Pro" with the DYS D800 X8 HL Copter.

I was being facetious since buying multiple units would offset the low price ;)

I'll test it if you buy it for me ;) Duh, you just order a couple more for spares...

    Sunglasses Recommendations?

Oakley Flak Jackets 99% of the time. Polarized. I'm on my second pair, lost my first on a shoot while riding in a stake truck lol. I've been wearing them since 2011 with no issues, they hold up great and are extremely comfortable and lightweight. What exactly do you not like about the size? I...

One prop, two chunks of GPS mast so far!

Is it possible that you have an IMU turned in the wrong direction physically or in the software settings? I had an IMU backwards once and my first takeoff was an immediate flip to the rear.

What hdmi to composite converter for your gh4?

No, I set it up so that if I did need power (on some other camera for example), I can just plug in a servo connector I spliced in. The GH4 apparently doesn't need it as it worked just fine without it. We're using an external power source instead of the internal battery though, I don't know if...

What hdmi to composite converter for your gh4?

Er... gimme a list... I'm not the camera guy. I just plugged it in and it worked, I'm getting all the wiring cleaned up and prettying everything up while the actual camera guy is working another job :D

What hdmi to composite converter for your gh4?

My Kopterworx converter works great with the GH4, no power needed. I have it wired in such a way that I just need to plug in a servo connector to give it power, though.

Connex HD Video Downlink Impressions and Review.

Oops, I just realized how that could be misconstrued... I probably mentioned the heavy lifter setups in previous posts but didn't reference them. Sorry about that!

    What would cause this issue?

Looked closer to 200' to me.

Connex HD Video Downlink Impressions and Review.

Thanks Shahar! Er... I'm sure it could lift it, briefly, but doubtful if it was mounted on a gimbal. I get about 10-11 minutes of flight time with a DJI H3-3D, it's really made for small cameras. The 810 or X6 would probably be closer but I don't have personal experience with either (yet).

Connex HD Video Downlink Impressions and Review.

FINALLY got ours a quick test! I mounted the Connex on my Tarot FY650 with a GoPro3 and went out to a local park. I got everything set up and working, and went out as far as I dared line of sight (that little Tarot gets small fast). The OSD on the Connex showed 200 meters when I stopped... no...

Connex HD Video Downlink Impressions and Review.

Ironically enough, our float fly was rained out... and now the lake is TOO full to have it. The lake was about 16' low at the first of the year. We had a massive amount of rain and now the lake is 25 feet OVER (maxed around 28 feet over). A few days ago we could have had the float fly on our...

Connex HD Video Downlink Impressions and Review.

My tests have been delayed because my field is flooded, and the other local field doesn't have power for plugging in my small TV (which I need since I don't have an HD monitor handy, my camera guy has them on another job). After a few weeks of this, I just realized that my laptop not only has...

    Naza gains seem useless?

You can end up with two types of wobbles... low frequency or high frequency. Since yours is on default settings I'm assuming it's low frequency. If that's the case, start bumping up your General gains about 5-10% at a time until it's gone. Others have had more experience than I, but in my...
