The Walkera radio screen looks good from what i can tell. Hopefully its bright enough. It would be a great aid to have if one lost orientation while flying LOS. I have no idea if Walkera radios are any good though.
I have a Y6 which weighs in at 2.4kg including 5000mah 4s battery, gopro and gimbal. Im using 10 inch props and get 8 minute normal flying flights per battery with my alarm set to 3.5v per cell. I usually land before the alarm goes off.
I use FCP X and it gives the different frame rates as options. Something I often do is shoot at 50fps, import it in to a project with the project set to 25fps and then retime the footage so it adjusts back to its correct speed and this helps give a smoother look to the footage.
Check with some of those who have flown MK and all the other controllers for a number of years, from everything those people have said it sounds to me like MK is the Rolls Royce.
Brushless motors lack the torque that servos have and so brushless gimbals are very sensitive to weight distribution relative to the COG. If the COG is out when the camera is on the gimbal you end up with problems. Servo based gimbals also were sensitive to the COG however because of the torque...
The servo technology had been used for years in gimbals. It wasnt a case of the industry steam rolling past the servo technology, more the industry finding something that finally solved many of the issues caused by servo based gimbals. There is still some innovation going on with the Ecilop guys...
Have you seen this?. Simon did this out of CF a while back. I havent checked to see how it flies. Get in touch with him, he might have a few tips for you, he is a good guy. https://vimeo.com/43654789
From a different angle, ignoring the machine you fly with one of the best bits of advice I could offer is to go through all this with someone experienced. Once you get whatever machine you end up with go flying with someone as often as possible, you will pick up a ton of knowledge faster if you...
When you are using the setup software is the altitude indicator moving on the screen as you lift the quad up and down?. Have you done a sensor test in the software?
Because you have the GPS board the barometric sensor should be protected well from the sun but do you have a cover over the boards...
On phone to Wayne now, he is changing bearings on motors and finding they have wear and tear. Wonder if anyone else has experienced this probelm with it turning out to be worn motors etc.
A couple of years ago I lent a radio to a friend. Somehow during that time he lost the aerial for the radio so put a replacement on it. I ended up with a fly away and discovered later that day that he had put a male aerial connector to the male radio connection meaning there was no completed...
