    New forum area idea

Bart is there any way to build some type of knowledge base so a member might type in a specific word such as 'props' and have that relative info brought forward? Do you think this is overkill?

    Roxxy 2827-35 motor bearings

You caught that didn't ya' John? ;) I had a gallon of the stuff in the garage, I have no idea where it came from, what is was purchased for, or what it is used to make. But once I smelled the stuff I figured it was strong enough that it would probably take the enamel off yer teeth if need be.

    Motor testing and rewinding info

Today I removed the stator from a shorted Roxxy 2827-35 and the windings appear to have been enameled or epoxied to the stator. Is this normal, can the stator be reused or do you all just start with a new stator?

    Roxxy 2827-35 motor bearings

Bart the bearings I picked up locally are R2ZZ which is the shielded bearing for the rear or in the case of a sealed bearing R22RS The front shielded bearing is R2/5-22 I was not able to find a sealed bearing for the front. Crash I tried the heat trick and the stator didn't budge. Se today...

    Roxxy 2827-35 motor bearings

No, that would be too easy Bart. I have a local bearing supplier that I'm going to visit today, he's never failed me yet. I'll see if he might have something in a sealed bearing while I'm at it and get back to you.

    Roxxy 2827-35 motor bearings

Bart I ended up using a small allen wrench and a plastic headed hammer to tap out both bearings. Ryan's measurments are the same as I came up with using the digital calipers. Working with the stator now.

    Roxxy 2827-35 motor bearings

Ron van Sommeren suggests checking for short circuits between the windings and the stator. Good idea. Since the windings are all connected to each other, check for any connection between the motor stator lamination's and the windings. Look for bare metal somewhere on the stator for one...

    Roxxy 2827-35 motor bearings

It's all ball bearings eh Crash? ;) Bart I don't want to hi-jack your thread, I do intend to replace the bearings on my motor but there are other problems with a Roxxy that I have. After doing a bit of reading that Crash suggested I got the bell yanked. All the magnets appear to be intact and...

    Roxxy 2827-35 motor bearings

Bart is there a trick to getting the bearings out? I have a 2827-35 in front of me with the bell removed and have been un-sucessful at yanking the bearings. I'm about to hit the bearing with freon to see if I can get it to contract enough to sneak it out. (In case the EPA is listening I will use...

    Motor testing and rewinding info

They make it look easy Crash but I'm betting that's an illusion. Hmmmm I do have an old 2827-35 Roxxy. Can I ask where you found that magnet wire?

    Mikrokopter Crashed

Never good to have a crash Bart but if it's gonna happen I hope it's always as minor (electronics damage wise) as the one you just had. With all the help you have here I'm sure you'll be back up and flying in no time.

    Learning FPV

I'm about to start the learning/crashing curve myself. Installed an Eagle Tree OSD this past winter and as I brush up the flying skills I'll either use the goggles or 7" monitor. Just don't want to rush into this thing if you know what I mean..... Too bad there isn't a MK sim with FPV that we...

Suppliers List And The Products They Offer

Bart I gave Crash the number for a local company in my area (Philcap Electronics) that sells 4 foot lengths of heat shrink in diameters up to 2 inches. I know they had black, red, clear, and yellow. This was the single wall heat shrink without the messy adhesive. Don't believe they have a web...

    Anyone fly today?

Seems like it's been raining here in Ohio for a straight month but yesterday afternoon the sun popped out. The batteries were charged so I fired up the Hexa, Damn was I rusty! Didn't break anything but I need to get out there more often. The batteries are all once again charged and it's Monday...
