Bart is there any way to build some type of knowledge base so a member might type in a specific word such as 'props' and have that relative info brought forward? Do you think this is overkill?

You caught that didn't ya' John? ;) I had a gallon of the stuff in the garage, I have no idea where it came from, what is was purchased for, or what it is used to make. But once I smelled the stuff I figured it was strong enough that it would probably take the enamel off yer teeth if need be.

Today I removed the stator from a shorted Roxxy 2827-35 and the windings appear to have been enameled or epoxied to the stator. Is this normal, can the stator be reused or do you all just start with a new stator?

Bart the bearings I picked up locally are R2ZZ which is the shielded bearing for the rear or in the case of a sealed bearing R22RS The front shielded bearing is R2/5-22 I was not able to find a sealed bearing for the front. Crash I tried the heat trick and the stator didn't budge. Se today...

No, that would be too easy Bart. I have a local bearing supplier that I'm going to visit today, he's never failed me yet. I'll see if he might have something in a sealed bearing while I'm at it and get back to you.

Bart I ended up using a small allen wrench and a plastic headed hammer to tap out both bearings. Ryan's measurments are the same as I came up with using the digital calipers. Working with the stator now.

Ron van Sommeren suggests checking for short circuits between the windings and the stator. Good idea. Since the windings are all connected to each other, check for any connection between the motor stator lamination's and the windings. Look for bare metal somewhere on the stator for one...

Never good to have a crash Bart but if it's gonna happen I hope it's always as minor (electronics damage wise) as the one you just had. With all the help you have here I'm sure you'll be back up and flying in no time.
