For me personally, the encoders will have to result in silky smooth video and simple autotune/setup procedures. I get great video with my CP. I'm looking for a smaller gimbal in the 1000g or less world and the decision to put an AlexMos or CP is really up to how the encoder based systems work...

My understanding is the encoders give direct feed back to where the brushless motor is positioned. I think it's sort of like, when you power up and the gimbal levels itself, the motor then marks it's position. Say on the roll motor, the motor might say it's at 12 o'clock or say 0 degrees...

Thought I'd start this thread to discuss the new gimbals and for people to share their coming experiences and video as these hit the markets. The 2nd half of 2015 potentially looks to be what we have all been promised & waiting for the past few years with the brushless gimbals. Rock solid...

Over on the other forum, on the Inspire Owners thread, post #33370 on page 2225 is a pretty good summations of issues so far on. It's a pretty good list but there are other problems. Remotes have become bricked during firmware update of which #3 is out since I bought mine less than 3 months...

Go over to either DJI's forum or the other forum starting with RC. It's somewhat being controlled in that peeps on the forums have been reading about it. There were a bunch of posts today about it. Evidently, has something to do with the self "smart" discharge after after a few days ...

I knew a little about the company, but this filled in a lot of gaps. I 've had a very unfavorable experience with their new Inspire line and service department. They are too insulated to take care of problems beyond "send it in and we'll fix it" right now. They will probably continue to grow...

Couple questions... Anybody ordered the Black Magic Micro Cinema camera yet? Also, for those of us who have NTSC monitors, to use in aerials, when setting up the shot with camera in gimbal, who we going to do it? My monitor is decent, but I can't judge exposure on it. Don't want to plug...

Here's a review of 3 cameras, 2 being the gh4 and 7s. It's a pretty involved review. I don't know anything about the reviewers, but they obviously have some experience. Camera wise, much has to do with what you want out of your shots, ease of use, amount of data your will to wrangle...

Just curious, what's your targeted AUW for this and what extra are you hoping to have for future use?

If some of the new controllers and gimbals that are popping up pan out, I thing the days of $2k,$ 3k, and $4k gimbals are pretty much over for the dslr and down market. A GH4 or similar is all 99.5% of the market needs and I think for flying, nobody needs to budget over $1100 in the coming...
