I stupidly used 30A esc's with 30A motors with my first build. They got hot and after a few minutes flying I almost lost control, just like yours. After fitting 40A esc's, the problem is gone...it could be the cause. Gunter.

I could help you out, are you willing to drive to Reading? My weekends are normally pretty full, but could manage an hour or two behind the sticks with you. If you are struggling that much, I would seriously consider a flight simulator. You can spend hours flying that without breaking anything...

I was wondering why my photos look worse when I put them up on the forums, so I inspected them after I uploaded and the forum actually halves them in size...I thought my eyes were deceiving me! Here are a couple from the weekend.

Those should be the right size. If they are the fatter slow fly props then this could be the problem. APC or Graupner thin electric props are best IMO. Gunter.

Try different esc's. I had exactly the same problem, the quad was flying erratic, jumping up and down while the throttle was in the same position. I swapped out the esc's for Arducopter esc's and it flew like a dream! Don't give up yet! Gunter.

How have you fixed the IMU to the centre plate? Have you got the XYZ directions correct in the assistant? Including + and - ? Have you got both the IMU and GPS both facing straight forward, and also the correct setup for the octo in the software? Ie octo V or octo I. Regards, Gunter. Sent...

Good luck! Just a word of warning. I wrote to them asking to change my license to reflect that I didn't have a Draganflyer any more, and to put my hexa on there...I had to pay the £111 license fee again! Anyway, it's all done and I should have my new copy next week sometime. Gunter.
