By the way if anyone wants to be sad, open the OSD log and just look at the g-forces graph.

That sounds similar to what happened to me. Very hard banking, like it was trying to turn itself upside down. In ATTI mode. Unfortunately I was effectively in a death-star trench like area so it found the wall fast. Maybe it could have recovered if I was able to climb out more. I'm baffled why a...

Yeah I've been eyeing the Alta heavily now. It's a LITTLE light, but if it can really take a Red or Alexa mini well, than that should be good enough for now. I feel like the main reason DIY dominates heavy lifting market is because there haven't been any legit offerings until now. A system built...

fltundra, those numbers make it seem like the 4014s are ok? 56% hover... They only get slightly in the red at max output...

I'm still struggling with the underlying philosophical question of the thread... Let me explain with an analogy: If you had been learning to fly an actual helicopter for example, and had a huge crash where you barely escaped with your life, where the cause was vague - and there was a chance that...

As far as the future goes, are there any FCs that are considered to be more reliable than the A2 because of their FEATURES or SPECS? Not just people's anecdotal evidence? On the surface, A2, WKM, MK, SuperX, Hoverfly, etc all kinda look the same.

The only other thing I was thinking was possible besides compass, was I was technically operating between 2 parallel concrete walls, about 35 feet high, 15 feet thick, and maybe 100 feet apart. Due to the wall thickness, is it possible it created a sort of "echo chamber" for my Tx signal...

It was running with a futaba Rx rather than the internal. I don't think there's any logging for that? Pumpkin, it was running 18" props. I'll admit I was skeptical about the company's rating of max 50lbs considering the specs, but I figured they knew more than I did? Like I said, we tested it...

I did have what appeared to be control of the throttle, but nothing else. Sometimes my stick inputs worked for a second, then did the opposite of what I told them to (and no I didn't lose orientation until the very end)... In retrospect probably could have killed the throttle and dropped it, but...

Hi folks, I apologize this is kind of a long read, but I wanted to finally share my story: I'm a filmmaker and video professional that's been working in the industry for almost 15 years. I've been doing the UAV thing for just about 2 years now... It started out as a curiosity and hobby that...

FREEFLY Systems Freefly ALTA, RTF collapsible hexacopter

Is there anywhere I can find more specifics about the Synapse FC? I can't seem to find any official info on the freefly site, and the internet seems to only provide years old speculation threads... I just wanna know what's so great/different about it...

2015 NAB News: Blackmagic Micro Cinema Cam, Tiny, Drone-Specific Super16 RAW Camera

As a guy in the professional video production world, 4k is very quickly becoming the standard... not just because of consumer 4k projection or tvs. When finishing HD, 4k gives so much more freedom in post to fine tune your shots to exactly what you want. If you are finishing in 1080p, you can...

    Dromida Ominus tuning

Semi-stupid Ominus question that googling hasn't helped me with: What does "low battery" look like? Just a flashing LED? When you crash it hard or a prop gets bound up on something the LED will sometimes flash to indicate a problem. Unplug the disconnect and reconnect the battery to reset this...

KDE vs T-Motor -- Picking a Motor Based on Spec Sheets

As I understand it you gain stability, but lose maneuverability. My large rig can sometimes "swing" a little with a heavy camera if stopping fast or attempting maneuvers involving more pitch and roll. Maybe I just need to tune the gains more, but I'd figure minimizing that effect would be...
