ASSISTANT SOFTWARE... DO I REALLY NEED to go there?

I have flown my Octo many times and never used the failsafe, but I always check the aircraft and Tx with the "Assistant Software" before flying. This might seem a little anal and it might be, but more than once I found that the autopilot wouldn't go into failsafe when the Tx was turned off. If I...

    Asked a Thousand Times

I agree, but get the DX8 or DX9 if your going to go with Spektrum. They should handle anything that you might ever want to do with a mulitrotor. Make sure if you get the Blade MQX that it is the, Bind and Fly. The DX8 is the only Spektrum Tx that is sure to work with FatShark FPV "Head Tracking"...

Very angry at DJI 10' props IT CAME APART

There is another thread on this forum that is talking about props. You might look at: readymaderc.com they have, tiger props, which might work for you. It's worth a look.

Very angry at DJI 10' props IT CAME APART

I got my props from, rctimer.com. I'm not defending Hobby King, but I waited 5 weeks for my Fatsharks. I know yours is a bit longer, but backorders can be a little annoying. Send them a inquiry and see what they say. I haven't had any problems with them myself.

Very angry at DJI 10' props IT CAME APART

I use RCTimer carbon fiber props and love them. They are a bit more expensive, but I haven't had any problems with them. I tried the DJI props and had the same issue that you and others have had. I have had my octo fall over when landing in the grass and the props just dug a grove in the lawn...

Vulcan Octo, Carbon Core Octo, Skyjib, or CS

I fly the CC 1000. I like the fact that the booms don't attach to the plates with a clamp. CC uses screws and reinforcing plates and can be folded for transport. I was concerned that a clamp might come loose and then your motor won't be alined. Maybe this isn't a concern, but it was a thought. I...

First Day Flying a Quad - Radio Input Speed Adjustments???

I have a DX8 and fly a Quad (MQX) and a Octo. These settings are for my Quad only. I set my Aileron, Elevator and Rudder to work off of the Aileron DR switch. I set position 2 at 50%, position 1 at 60% and position 0 at 90%. I started flying at 50% and as I got better I switched to the next...

    Motors not starting

Do you mean the compass? This is said with respect, the manual explains this. Remember to be patient and to be at least 20 feet, 6m, away from any metal. I forgot about a knife in my pocket and it took me a couple of times before I released my mistake, be mindful of keys, coins (change) and cell...

No audio alert when Wookong-M powers up

I checked with a couple of shops and they said that the ESC sends the arming signal, and the motor makes the arming tone. Maybe some ESC's make a tone, as boranup has said. This I think is as good as it gets.

No audio alert when Wookong-M powers up

LOL!!! I'm laughing because we can't seem to agree as to which makes an arming tone. It will be interesting to see how this turns out. I'm so excited!

A little more info please. Have you flown this quad before? Do you get an arming tone when you power the ESC's? Are the trims in your Tx set to 0?

    wookong m update questions

You don't have to do a progressive update. Just update to the program that you want. Remember to reset your gains to default and reset. Some have said that 5.16 is solid, I'm using 5.26, but I'm flying a Octo and haven't had any issues. 5.26 is 5.24 with 50 waypoints. No need to go to 5.26...

Aerial Photo Certification in the US

I'm sure that one day we will be able to get certified by the FAA, but as to when???????? Until then I'll wait. For me there is no need to take a class that is not sanctioned by the FAA. It will cost enough.

No audio alert when Wookong-M powers up

You should hear the ESC's tone each time you power up. If you don't, think about NOT flying. If you don't get a tone then something is wrong with an ESC or ESC's. They make a tone when they arm. That is the way I understand it.

    Liability Insurance

I know that you are looking for commerical liability ins. I'm not sure but for flying for fun I went with AMA, American Modeling Association, they cover up to 2.5 million for liability at the cost of your membership. I don't think it will cover commercial, but if your flying for fun then you...

    Corrosion

After reading this thread I E-mailed "Thunder Power Batteries" and asked them what they recommend, because this has been a concern of mine also. They responded with: http://www.espritmodel.com/connectors-adapters-harnesses.aspx?page2 Hope this helps. I did place and order.
