    OK, WTF!

It appears that this issue is related to this posting: http://www.multirotorforums.com/threads/wkm-crash-at-takeoff.26778/ His log showed the U-Channel was triggered indicating RTH/ Waypoint Mode..... He insisted that he had not triggered the RTH function.... even though the DAT. log indicated...

    WKM Crash at takeoff

Media, Look at this thread.. http://www.multirotorforums.com/threads/ok-wtf.26872/page-2 This may have been what caused the aircraft to go into RTH....i.e. triggered the U-Channel.... Please check this out!!!

    OK, WTF!

Here is the explanation in the manual. They are used for gimbal control, when you enable gimbal controls in assistant. Was the switch causing the T/R and E/A channels to move to max. when switched in assistant causing a CSC? I really want to understand what was happening....please.

    OK, WTF!

Thanks... Very sorry to hear about this... and injuries... I really hate to hear that!!! I have never seen a DJI aircraft spool up without a CSC...or a command in Ground Station. This is VERY weird...... Blue flashing is for Control Mode... when using Data Link..... But you have no Data Link...

    OK, WTF!

Do you have iOSD? If so can you post the .DAT file. Does this aircraft have a Data Link for Ground station?

    Need camera reccomendations

Sorry it took so long to reply.... I have not been here since posting before.. I was focused on BUDGET as this seemed to be what you were asking for.... I have bought several cameras on E-bay.... Both my NEX are used E-bay cameras.... They are down to about $150.00 with the 18-55 glass now. A...

A2 with Spektrum - Say YES to TX Telemetry

Preface: For the last couple years, I have been slowly moving from WKM to A2 on the HexaCrafter Demo aircraft. As I lived through the whole WKM experience from the beginning, I waited on A2 until the firmware craziness had settled down and know the A2 was proven. Another BIG reservation on A2...

    Need camera reccomendations

How about a used GH3... They are a bargain all over the internet.... NEX5 / 7 are a great for aerials if 1080p will do... Also a bargain used on internet...

Hexacrafter X8 - Finished and Ready for Service!

There is some truth to the range of harmonics seeming to be wide, but the consulting engineers quickly isolated the "natural" wavelengths (I believe this was the term they used), but do not claim to understand their science..... and began their designs & testing.... If I remember, the motor &...

    WKM Crash at takeoff

Here is something to try.... Using a great camera on a tripod..... Like a GH4..... Spool it up several times on camera......Do not try to take off.... just arm... spool up slightly and drop stick..... let motors stop and immediately restart.... Review the footage and slow it down as needed to...

Hexacrafter X8 - Finished and Ready for Service!

Vibration/ Shock isolation is a science best left to the professionals. Our design was a cooperative effort with a MAJOR full size aircraft component vibration/ shock isolation firm. It cost some $$, but it was tested to specific load & harmonic ranges in their lab. I laugh when I see the Flood...

    A2 fly-away and crash

Matt, You will get the MOJO back.... This industry is an addiction..... soon it will be far behind you and just something to talk about over a beer. The biggest piece of advice I have for all of my Pro flyers is stay focused.... Especially on the Set/ Shoot....lots of distractions to deal with...

    A2 fly-away and crash

The Radio signal was there the whole time until he turned it off..... You can see his attempts to turn off failsafe in the log... 43 seconds into flight 10 or so times into ATT mode. It spooled up in Manual Mode with U Channel (RTH) and POI turned on..had been powered for ONLY 21.683...

    A2 fly-away and crash

Cara... Homepoint can only record if GPS signal is strong enough.... The log shows 6 satellites at the time of spool up and this incident. One thing I learned a long time ago is not to rely on what is supposed to occur, but rather what is confirmed to occur. If one wishes to rely on a recorded...

    A2 fly-away and crash

All three happen at the same time 21.683 sec... 1. Flight mode goes from Manual to GPS 2. U- Channel Failsafe Initiates 3. IOC switches on. As soon as it gets a GPS lock it is in failsafe & IOC.... I bet with a home point other than where it was taking off from... and trying to fly home. Sorry.

    A2 fly-away and crash

U Channel & IOC active at 22 sec... I assume you have RTH set to U Channel.... with IOC set to return forward or backwards.... If this is the case.... It went into failsafe..... Either by loss of TX or by some other means....
