Current feeling on U7 and equivalent KDE?

Been watching this thread... Still waiting for anyone to address the original purpose..... Comparison/ Info on KDE 5215-435 kva to T-motor U7 -420 kva... NOT the 490 kva.... This is apple to apples.... except the completely different motor geometry (pole count), which from our experience...

    Momentary Power Surge HC1100

John, I believe what he is saying is the male metal bullet type. The newer bullets are a one piece design. These are much improved over the 2 piece "cage" design shown on the EC5 photo attached. The Cage type of bullet was responsible for many of the DJI failures in the past... 4 or so years...

    Wookong-M issue

Per our experiences a 40a esc is too small for the 3515- 400 kva.... 45a minimum, but we use T-motor t60a.... No Simon K for us.... you need a bigger amp ESC for sure....

Tiger motor, Antigravity series vs Navigator Series ?

I would have to look into this deeper to confirm all of the differences, but thought that most of this line have much lighter case.... Less weight than a MN.... But some even have what appears to be the same case, so I am not sure.

Budget vs Tmotor props experiment results.

Can you post the weights of each prop... The T-motor engineers I have spoken with say the added efficiency is somewhat due to weight. This is especially true with multicopters that are having to use motor energy to continually speed up an slow down the mass of the prop. I do find it interesting...

FREEFLY Systems Freefly ALTA, RTF collapsible hexacopter

On a quality A2 based aircraft that is properly tuned, there is VERY little difference between ATT mode and GPS mode in flight..... just the position holding of the GPS and how tightly you turn up the gains on Basic (GPS) settings. Most of the production teams I know were flying ONLY ATT mode...

FREEFLY Systems Freefly ALTA, RTF collapsible hexacopter

I hear many asking the same question... How does it fly compared to A2? They are answering, but I think you need to understand that you are not providing a "reference" for the A2 based aircraft. Everyone's A2 based reference machine will be different, so how do they compare. I believe what they...

    XAircraft SuperX

With all other current improvements in Multicopter Electronics, It amazes me that more ESC manufacturers have not added this feature/ technology..... I guess I wonder if the market would support the additional cost per ESC... 70%...?? Unlike most of our customers, the mass market seems to...

Location Specific Issue Needs Our Collective minds for Solution

Max... Thanks for the update...I always wonder how some of these things turn out... Also... I agree entirely with the lesson.... Even the BEST I know in the business have the rare equipment failure... This is why I always stress the need to have an emergency plan in place....and to practice a...

    AMA starts UAS4STEM program

I have been doing "demo" flights for 3 local school districts for about 3 years now. STEM schools and Joint Vocational Schools in the area have contacted HexaCrafter for assistance in introducing "Drones" to the students at a young age.... 6th grade locally..... The kids all love the...

Location Specific Issue Needs Our Collective minds for Solution

Just a thought..... Maybe it is not the FC at all....especially with as extreme & apparently violent aircraft actions. Perhaps a dry solder joint on an ESC/ Motor/ PDB??? The only way to know for sure would be to test with a different FC, but my gut says either bad connection somewhere or just a...

    KDE XF esc's

A2 voltage readings with Tiger u7 (v2.0) motors

Another thought.... Are your batteries healthy??? With the heavy lift applications you will need a good quality battery pair... I see no information about the batteries used, but for a Flat 6 or Flat 8 I suspect you are using at least (2) 10,000 mah or (2) 16,000 mah batteries from a better...

A2 voltage readings with Tiger u7 (v2.0) motors

BAT, I have always seen DJI iOSD data and other voltage telemetry system data behave the way you describe. The No Load vs Load voltage on heavy lift aircraft do fluctuate massively... especially with larger motors and the need for sudden "burst" spikes in power draw as the aircraft corrects to...

Can't arm Naza in GPS mode

You need to go to this tab and watch the U-Channel movement with the switch. You need to adjust the Channel in the TX that is controlling the U-channel. Adjust the endpoint so that each switch position lights up the correct box blue and the pointer is centered in each box. This video also...

Can't arm Naza in GPS mode

Connect to DJI Naza Assistant & verify that the switch movement align with each mode. It sounds like the servo endpoints need adjusted and when you switch to GPS it is actually moving to Failsafe.... This is my best guess.

    Problems with too much power?

I prefer the HQ1150L for RED. The larger frame allows the larger RED camera & Larger Landing Gear to stay out of the Propeller wash. Yes, The HQ850L will do the lift, but you may then struggle with vibrations from the wash on the Camera & Landing Gear. Also.... I know of at least 5 clients &...

    Problems with too much power?

In reply to original question: Build a rig from a weight range from say GH4 to RED? and Use M5 and M10 on the same aircraft. Many of our clients use the HO-1250L - U7-490 for this weight range VERY successfully. Most use 16" T-motor Props when flying GH4 & 17" props for RED to dial the aircraft...

    Help calibrating ESCs

I will add on to stress that you need to read the ESC manual and understand the EXACT Beep/ song sequence for your ESC. I have had more than a few clients struggle as they moved the stick from high to low after a first series of beeps (too early as they were to wait for a pause and a long...
