Aeronavics / Droidworx Cutting CF boom

Welcome to MultiRotorForums.com!!
Hi Philip,

I made a jig and use a composite metal cutting blade in a skil saw. A tile saw also works well especially if you've got a wet saw to keep the dust down. A hack saw with a bi-metal fine tooth (32 tpi or higher) blade will also do a nice job but you should wrap the tube with masking tape at the cut line to keep it from splintering if you go this route.

Whatever you do, do not do it inside, do not breathe in the dust, and try very hard to keep the dust from grinding into your skin.

Look into the health and safety side of cutting CF. Its not nice stuff. If you do get dust on your hand always wash off with COLD water rather than hot as this will keep your pores closed. Cold water with a thick mix of detergent is what I have found best. The detergent sticks to dust and helps remove it that way

It cut like butter so easy and no splinters. Throwback CX 4 V1 I've had for a long time Finley getting it together. MikroKopte full stack inside. It should be a fun UAV. Thanks for all the advice.
