FPV fixed wing airplane. That one pic from the first leak looked like a cockpit/wing attachment area...

Tri copter, Look at the green lights and hindged arm?

Yes but it's a 600mm quad with center hinge mechanism going from 'convex' gear down position for take off and landing. Flick a switch on the new transmitter and it moves to a 'concave' configuration with motors and landing feet above the central hub. Proprietary 3-D gimbal and camera hangs down off front of a central hub that is surrounded by plastic fairing. To land, flip switch and 4 arms are lowered so that tips of feet are below the gimbal-mounted camera for landing. Parallelogram linkage for arms and motor mounts keeps motors facing 'up' throughout the vertical range of the arms as they move from arms-down landing/takeoff to arms-up for flight with unobstructed 360 degree gimbal view about z-axis. Slot for proprietary intelligent battery (voltage & capacity ??).

Better yet, here is the patent http://www.google.com/patents/US20140263823 . Its a quad, that takes off as an a frame and transfers to a v frame letting the gimmbal hang freely, no more retractable landing gear...

There is too many moving parts on that thing.....sloppy linkages...wobbly di bobbly.....another recipe of desaster.

Interesting thing: DJI changed their marketing strategy now.....after that "look-what-we-have-preorder-now-and-get-whenever-we like" doesn't work any more, now they "leak" product drawings and show useless teasers......but it will work again.....people will never learn.

Safe prediction based on DJI's track record, doesn't 'guarantee' accuracy though. Even for DJI fans (and there must be some, like more than for any other manufacturer), it is certainly prudent to wait and see on this. Despite all the nay-sayers, the latest P2 (non-vision) is quite a nice system, especially paired with a GoPro H4--*if* you can tolerate (or choose to engineer around) the proprietary batteries. I'm interested to see what this platform evolves into. As has been said so many times, DJI is pushing the envelope on almost all fronts. If only they would sacrifice margins a little for more quality and decent customer service...

if it is built like the landing gear or gimbals that DJI makes, I think that it will be very strong and vibration free. The engineering and manufacturing DJI does is by far miles past anyone else. You cannot deny that...period..

Before anyone throws this new copter under the bus because it is so drastically different, take a moment and just wait for the real world test results to come in.
