thanks for the thoughts. I ended up ordering 2 hobbyking propellers. I'll see how they look and get back to the thread. I agree though if they are as bad as people say, it's not worth risking the copter for a cheap prop.

I'm not flying close to anyone or anything at this stage.. the biggest danger to anything is my poor flying skills and I think that trumps a prop failure at this point... but agreed, it isn't...
How does the prop type affect the flight of the multi-copter? I'm flying an octocopter and right now it has CF 12x3.8 props. If I were to switch to wood or APC (are those plastic?) but with the same specs, how would that change the response of the copter?

I'm a newb and am wondering how much damage is OK to have on a propeller. I'm flying an octocopter and have CF propellers. I had a couple rocky landings and shave 1mm or so off the end of a couple props when it tipped. Am I still OK to fly with it or should I switch them. I did already try...
