There's your problem right there in your OP. Stop hovering so much. Fly the thing around for 5 minutes, I bet your ESC's don't come back nearly as hot.

I wonder if some of that NeverWet stuff would work for that. It would certainly repel the water but I'm not sure what it would do to protect against the salt. I have no idea if it conducts, test test test...

I don't know who your intended customers are but carbon fiber props alone would be bad for a newb. Not that the props are a bad idea per se, I'd just throw in some cheap starter props to use until they get the hang of not having "surprise landings". :)

There are plenty of monitors used for FPV that won't run a battery down that fast. More important is the fact that some monitors won't display static when presented with a poor signal, instead they just go blue. You don't want this. Sometimes when you're flying, the picture gets pretty bad...

Thanks, what I posted yesterday turned out to be true. Man am I glad I don't jump on things like this. I actually put my quad on the bench and started looking into upgrading and stopped a few minutes before I was set to start hooking things up. I thought "hmmmm, MS screws this kind of stuff...

Saw a post on another forum that stated that DJI had pulled the new update down because it's buggy and they want to fix it. No idea if that's true and I can't find anything official. I've been holding off kind of expecting something like this.

While 1G2/1G3 sounds like a panacea, be aware that it's first harmonic falls almost right on top of your 2G4 control signal. Many people have problems with that and will use UHF control. Oh, 1000mW on 5.8G is a waste of money. You aren't going to get that far anyway as the signal at 5.8G acts...

Part of me agrees with this. Part of me says that the public finds weather balloons harmless so associating RC aircraft with the harmless machinations of a weather balloon could ease some tension a bit. I also like the presentation, pretty pictures for the uninitiated to ogle. :)
