Please help.... Advice needed on swapping 5.8GHz for 1.3GHz FPV!!

That video tx/rx from readymade should do nicely. . . I would grab the blu-beam antennas. . . you won't regret it. 1.3g video can cause trouble with the NAZA GPS (you don't mention your FC). . . it can be mitigated, but needs to be dealt with or you can have a GPS flyoff. It is possible you...

    QAV500 Build List?

I would get more than one flight battery. . . .2 or 3 would make flying more fun with less waiting ;) If you are new to multirotors I would suggest starting with apc 10x4.7 slowfly props ($3-4 ea) until you get the hang of everything then switch to the graupners $9-10 ea). When you are learning...

Brushless gimbal H8 design idea? CAD or cutting help please

I have been mulling over a coax H8 copter design Centralized around a brushless gimbal (not sure which one yet)to hold a NEX5n or slightly larger camera. Think QAV500 but much larger to handle bigger props and weight of gear. I think with the camera directly at the CG of the copter combined...

    ?H8 copter design idea??

I think the center plates would need to be 5-6" wide to fit the gimbal with 1-1.5" on each side of the stack for gimbal motors/mounts etc. Maybe 18-22" long for the plates depending on the angle of the arms coming out. If the plates for the stack were 6x22" would the g10 or CF be too flexible...

4.5-5kg Y6 battery and prop selection questions

I am flying a Naza currently as my FC and CC3D as a gimbal controller. I am using 12x3.8 props right now all around but have only done a bit of hovering with short directional flights LOS. Some guys swear by deeper pitch lower props for a "sharper" feel in flight, so I am gonna try and report...

4.5-5kg Y6 battery and prop selection questions

Well Droider convinced me and I tore my flat hex uap1 down and converted her to a Y6. I am now waiting for some final bits to have nex5n downlink but have a couple of questions about batts and props. AUW minus batteries is 3.5kg AUW W/2x 4500 4S nanotech batts (i have 'em) is 4.5kg I can't...

    ?H8 copter design idea??

I am thinking about a build for 2013 centered around a brushless gimbal holding a nex5n. What I imagined is an H8? (xy8 type copter but in an h layout) with a lower top to bottom profile than I currently see. Maybe 8-12" from ground to top. I am thinking much like a QAV500 layout with the gimbal...

    Castle switching regulators....questions/opinions?

I have used the blue 10 amp CC bec for about 3 years. . . I have had one failure, it was due to an offsite landing (fpv) and was sitting int the 90deg sun powered for about 45 min. . . But I now no longer use them due do increased noise floor and cost! I currently use this BEC for 4s power...

Tiger Motors 4014 330kv or 400kv - which would you chose.

The biggest questions I would have to make the choice are? What size battery? (i would think 6s, but who knows maybe you want 8s) What is the expected all-up weight of the octo and what size props do you want to run? If you are going to go 6s and i would lean towards 400kv. I had the same...

Do you use "Thread locker" on F550 Propeller Nuts? - CRASH -!

I have never used threadlocker. . . Never used nylock nuts (but i like the idea). . . . Never "lost" a prop in flight unless I hit something in flight to break it. I will be ordering some nylock nuts as it seems a great idea ;)
