This is the last video from my Phantom 2 H3-3D combo before taking delivery of the P3. It’s sad to see the end of the P2 line but I am looking forward with some relish to flying my new machine;)
Sad to see the end of the P2 :(
I started this thread 17 months ago and I still love my P2.
The original battery has flown 68 flights and is still going strong (see video below) despite a few hiccups with low battery warnings. I believe the solution is never to fly with a partially charged...
Thanks for that Buckaye, it appears I'm not the only one with this issue - there's over 200 posts on the PhantomPilots forum from p2 owners with the same problem. It will take a couple of hours to read through them all but hopefully it will allow me to get a better fix on the issue.
For the third time time my P2 decided to go into auto landing mode with 34% battery life showing. A few days ago it went into auto landing mode with 42% battery showing on my iOSD. Both times I have managed to bring it back home safely with increased throttle. My settings are 20% for battery...

My first video on this thread and my first attempt at producing an FPV clip with music background. Go easy guys ;-) Nothing fancy, still struggling to get that buttery smooth yaw I see on some videos. No editing apart from cuts and titles.

I finally made the decision to put the iOSD mini inside my P2.
I cut through the grey 4 wire CAN-bus ribbon cable inside the P2, removed my iOSD case and made a direct soldered connection. I then reconnected the outgoing grey ribbon cable directly to the iOSD CAN-bus output to feed my datalink...
Thanks for that Ed.
At the moment I am flying without my iOSD and using a similar idea to yours with my data link secured to the base of the P2 with 3M and my transmitter velcroed on to it. This is working well but I would like the security of the iOSD info in the event I have to cut loose...
I'm struggling to find a way of fitting the DJI ground station datalink transmitter and iOSD mini onto my P2. There's little space available. Anyone done this? Any ideas?
Maximum altitude is calculated from your take off point. I live in hill country at 200 metres elevation. I initially set my maximum altitude to 120 metres to comply with uk regulations. However I quickly ran into problems because the ground I am flying over is often higher than my take off...
That's a neat solution to the mounting problem John. I have placed the datalink centrally on the base of my P2 with my Immersion transmitter velcroed to it leaving no room for my iOSD. I think you have worked out a better solution and I will try to emulate.
My main interest is photography...
John, thanks for your response. I had found a workaround but your answer explains the reason and solves the problem completely. As you say the interface contains a few bugs, but I must admit the app has impressed me on the few flights I have flown.
How did you mount the the datalink on the...
Hi guys
I have just installed the DJI iPad Bluetooth ground station on my p2 with H3-3D gimbal. Difficult finding a place to put it and I have now removed my mini iOSD to make room. My first two flights have gone well, you can now operate the gimbal tilt during waypoint mode.
However I do...
Am I alone in thinking the DJI iOSD screen layout leaves much to be desired. The designers if that's the right word appear to have placed the information with little thought. The battery and satellite info is just about right in the top left and top right of the screen but the rest of the info...
