RTH works

I have a F450, and been flying around the house recently due to recovering from back surgery. I took off from the street (end of dead end road), and took it up pretty high. I could still see it, looked down to check time, and when I looked up I could not see it. My street is lined by big old oak trees, so I walked down a couple of houses to see if I could see it from a small clearing and no luck. Turned off the transmitter and walked back home figuring I just lost it :sorrow:. I was very concerned, in that I had a nasty crash a couple of weeks earlier, and had not been able to recalibrate the compass (it's a little difficult to turn in circles when walking with a cane) after the rebuild. A couple minutes later I saw it coming in over the trees, turned the transmitter on and brought it back down. Dumb luck, it made it back to where I could see it and bring it down. Best $179 I have spent was on the GPS option.

As an FYI total flight time was 9:36 (timer is set for 8:30). AUW is approx 1400. Motors - Sunnysky Angel 2216 - 12 880kva. Props 10 x 4.7 APC. Battery 3300 Gens Ace. Used 2850 mah / 86%.

RTH is one of the better features/updates of DJI's flight controller. Fly it out and hit a switch to bring it home. It will land with minimal to no bounce if your settings are right, but I normally retake control before it lands (I have a Y6 and don't want to risk damaging the props). It's actually pretty fun to fly.

Wow nice save, congrats in the recovery. I did a couple LOS tests of the RTH this weekend, and still the first time hi flipped that switch (not the Tx power mind you) I was still nervous as hell that it would run off to the Pacific or something.
