F550 carbon tube arm replacement.

I like my f550 frame, but I think it could be lighter. Anyone ever heard of replacing the arms with carbon tubes? I am working on a design for a plastic collar that will hold the arm and the top and bottom plate together. I'm just beginning R&D and wanted to know if anyone heard of any mods similar to this.

Something like this might work, I haven't found exact dimensions of this piece but this is the idea. Its used on a turnigy talon frame. I want to keep my power distro board from my flame wheel otherwise I would just replace the whole frame.
