For those with big octo's, using hoverfly pro, what have your prop experiences been? Does it work better with bigger props/ smaller/ more pitch/ less?
To specify motor kv, 4s, 5s, 6s, and AUW would be very helpful too. :)

Can't help you with the specifics of our RTF aerial systems. However, I will tell you that in general lower pitch is better.

i think that all MR work better with smaller props ..1 but the flight times are not good.!

I use 710 motors with 14x4.7 and HFP..! and 4s..!

But if i do it again i would go with tiger 6s motors and big prop..! the most efficient setup ever..!

I use tiger 2814's and APC SF 12" and 14" but i prefer the 12" I still feel like 14's are too much for a 2814. 4s.

Hey Tim,

Ben Rowland is making some lovely videos with this 14x4.7 props using HFpro and QC3328...might be a good starting point

Thanks Tabb, and all. I will start with something just like Ben. Then maybe go to 6s at some point with bigger motors.

I own a set of the 14x4.7 APC SF props and they work great when flying our GH2 on our Cinestar 8 with Hoverfly Pro. We recently shot for a client with a 5D MkIII and used a set of Xoar wooden props 14x5. They fly well with the heavier cameras. The APCs fly great no matter what the weight. The Xoars aren't as good with the lighter cameras but seem to fly well with the heavier ones and they descend pretty good too. I'd start with the APC SF props since they work well and are affordable. Then experiment with others as the budget allows. Always keep a couple of spares handy on a shoot.

These are just my opinions, not scientific fact, but we've got happy clients, so we must be doing something right.
